I've tried playing Doom before, but fore some reason I can't seem to get into it. I don't know if it's just that I never got to it on the right time. I did like Exhumed for the PS1 which is a similar gameplay. I've never played Quake though. It may be interesting to give it a try.The original Quake and Doom 64 can be pretty immersive once you let yourself get sucked into them. Doom 64, especially, it just oozes a bleak atmosphere.
If old PC games are an option then I'd also recommend Clive Barker's Undying and Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines.
I had played a little bit of Baroque before and it looks super dope. I really have to get to play it some day, the setting and aesthetics are just on point.Baroque
Blade Runner 1997
Grim Fandango
Enemy Zero
I bought the first Stalker and had it on my backlog for the longest time. It looks great and I should really get to play it soonthe stalker games

It seems this post was specifically designed to fully activate my neurons. I didn't know about this game but based on what you tell me and what I'm seeing about it I know I've got to play this. Thank you for the recommendation! If the PS1 aesthetic is your thing, check out Hellnight. The gist is that you're exploring an underground city beneath Tokyo after a train derailment strands you and another survivor in the tunnels.
You can meet and recruit other survivors as you explore the city but practically the entire time, you're being stalked by a creature that escaped from deeper inside the city. Not only are you in danger but so are your companions: if the creature catches up, they can die permanently.
Definitively will try Baroque! The Suffering is a game I learned about a long time ago and it seemed really cool but I could have never played it because it looked way to scary for meThe Suffering for PS2 and Baroque for PS1.
