Ask Me Anything
I enjoy writing about games at least, as I can't say I enjoyed playing all of them. But I do also enjoy playing bad games, to a certain extent? I guess I'm pretty suited for this whole thing, actually.

Andromeda wasn't the first time I've scrapped an article, but it was the first one that I was actually excited about doing and had to scrap for other reasons (part of it was the negativity). All the others were just things I wasn't sure on the concept of after coming up with the idea, or games that once I started playing I was just like 'eh' or just wasn't feeling the writing for.
Fair enough! I can do that with movies, and talk about terrible/mediocre films long enough to irritate friends and lovers, but bad games are tough to maintain interest for. I'm almost envious!

(I *realllllly* tried for Vanguard Bandits on the PSX, for example. I re-wrote that review like six times, and looked up everything I could about the game and it's creators. It was just too meh, in the end. I even kinda like the game, but I can't say much besides "It's a standard SRPG, whose most interesting trait was hitting North America at a time when that genre - and it's anime/mecha art - were starting to become very popular with a wider audience").

By the way...you haven't played the original Fallout? Not to be a bitch, but whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy- You managed Crusader and the Might and Magic series, I promise it's even better!

Do you agree calamari is DISGUSTING

I've always meant to give them a go, but I don't really have an answer as to why I haven't yet. I like the Fallout games, but I'm not like that big of a fan of them or anything. Just never got around to it. I think I have them all on GOG, maybe I'll do it at some point.

Okay so this is going to make my whole 'I'm actually an octopus' shtick character out to be a psychopath, but I actually love eating octopus dude. Whenever I go out to a sushi place, the first thing I look for is if they have octopus tentacles, followed by unagi eel rolls. Squid too obviously, they're practically the same thing.

ITS SO FITTING

Before I start with my questions, I must say thank you for making your Marvel articles - they were what initially brought me here to these forums in the first place.

Is there a particular backstory behind your beginnings as a writer? Were you always interested in writing, or is it a more recent venture?

Are you related to that one octopus who used to do the FIFA World Cup predictions?

(I know nothing about sea life, I'm sorry lol)

Nice, I'm glad to hear the Marvel articles serve a purpose other than slowly grounding me down into insanity. Thank you for reading them.

I've always been interested in writing, yeah. I've always loved storytelling and making up characters and stuff in my head since I was pretty young and had a very active imagination as a kid. Probably came from me reading comic books like a lot of people I'd imagine, but I think a big part of it was my early exposure to D&D; I'd read the AD&D rulebook front to back, over and over again, before I was even really old enough to understand how any of it worked and would just imagine characters I wanted to play. As for specifically video game writing like I do here, it was mostly a spur of the moment decision when RGT was first coming out, mainly to push myself to actually commit to something creative and publish it, even if it is just an amateur website like this. I really like it though, I'm a pretty silly guy and it gives me an excuse to write silly things about stuff I like.

Paul the octopus is a hero of our people, and it would be an honour to be related to him. Probably not though, like a 1% survival rate of juvenile octopods probably means I'm an only child.
