it's a turn based fantasy game with horror & adventure elements, big focus is on storytelling & world building.
It takes place in a medieval fantasy/steampunk/tudor era hybrid setting that I originally developed for a DnD campaign years back & i kinda just kept coming up with ideas for lol

in terms of this game i'm trying to keep things simple as i'm still learning how to code in gbstudio. been working a lot on the battle scene & the ability to speak to enemies in battle (sorta like the SMT games)
currently buried in spreadsheets covering enemies/items/stats/formulas and working on visuals & music to not go crazy.

started these earlier today & want ur thoughts (didnt upscale these so they'll be kinda blurry, forgive me hopefully you can still make them out)

working on these upclose frames of the main characters w/o armor for dialogue scenes, but i noticed a slight problem: left looks like a main character, right kinda just looks like some guy without his bulky armor.

should i swag him out to match her? or does he look okay
i'm planning on making a variation w/ them armored up but he looks a but im wondering if he looks plain in comparison with the fem main chara here.
gonna look thru some references & do a second pass on these tmorrow but let me know if u guys have any thoughts

Oh bro that's sick! Honestly, it already looks MORE than okay, he looks cool enough. If you feel like it needed a change, then go for it. We would love to see what else do you have in mind, thank you for sharing your progress!

Depends...do they wear suits while armored up? Is this a fantasy theme or sci-fi fantasy?

From time to time, I was thinking using GameBoy Graphics could be a waste... And every time, I got mistaken, looking to the impossibly more dedicated designs!
And this is sometimes, a better definition (an exquisite one), to what is and makes absolute definition, at its best...
Only for looking every time someone is creating with a GameBoy...

Bravo, especially for the nudes. A sensual woman's body is always something very beautiful and profound to accomplish. Modigliani and Matisse's nudes have always blown me away. Especially for Matisse, the ones made with a simple pencil stroke are very interesting. Even Picasso envied his flair.

I think he looks good as is. Within the context of things, I'm guessing we're gonna be seeing him with his armor portrait most of the time (& I know that's gonna have presence!), so when we actually do see the casual portrait, it'll give him a more relaxed look. Or so I think anyway.

*Edits*
In the concept art I noticed that Eydinn has a shoulder strap even in his casual clothes, which is neat. It'll also help break up a bit of the symmetry.
