This is a prototype. It was made around a month after the initial Japanese retail version. The game voices are entirely japanese but every texts are in english. This is basically the undub version but the voices wont cut.

Just in case anyone wonder, this prototype version came out after the original release of the japanese retail version. Meaning the game is complete and entirely playable. It was simply in the process of being translated. All text has been translated, but the voices hasn't.
I've personally been playing for 3 hours yet and it's anything i could've hoped for.

I'm having issues using this on duckstation via android. My controls aren't responding at all (yes I mapped them correctly).

EDIT: It worked, turns out I had analog mode switched off.

I too never knew this build version existed somewhere after all this time. Great find and great work patching this game. After some searching, I also found there's a prototype of AC2 as well up on the internet archives. I'm not sure if it's any different than the final release, but I'll try it soon.

analog controller support
Actually, at least when I played it on my PS2, the game detected both joysticks as if they were the D-pad and the other buttons, so setting the camera to cross, square, triangle and circle, it worked as if they were joysticks, and so I was able to play it without any problems ☝️(although I didn't use that configuration until after finishing the game xd)

Really wish someone would do the same for the King's Field series.
I mean, i can kinda be done by fiddling around with the controller mapping on emulators and that's the (way more enjoyable) way i've played tyhe first two but some properly mapped controls ready to go would be nicer (and viable for original hardware).
Exactly, we need a true analogs patch for king's field...

I've played the original game before, but I didn't know that there was a prototype of the game and also with analog controller support, which gives more freedom of movement to the mecha compared to the D-pad that comes with the original PS1 controller and that makes it more compatible as well.
