If you were to ask me this question several years ago I would have answered I am Retro Consoles Only since I swore modern consoles off completely. While retro console games are the majority of my most recently completed games, I do occasionally play modern games but from specific franchises (ex. my favorites series Street Fighter, The King of Fighters) & developers (Capcom, SNK etc.)
The last modern console I purchased new was Xbox 360 back in 2007, with my total end library of games being under 20 or so. Since I primarily bought the system to play Street Fighter IV (eventually other classic HD fighting game series as well; KoF 2002 UM, Garou MOTW, SF III 3S OE, NGBC to name a few.) So I never played, or owned a Nintendo Wii or Sony PlayStation 3 home console during this time.
Fast forward to the beginning of the Eighth generation in 2012, I had zero interest in any modern games during the first several years and would harbor back to playing Retro games (no indie, or Steam). About a few years ago (4) modern systems made it my way Wii, Wii U, PS4 and more recently Switch. I have been casually playing a handful of games on each, again mostly from my favorite series & developers.
So long story short while I do play Retro games 90% of the time I also play selected modern games from time to time. My favorite being Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and currently finishing Yoshi's Crafted World. For the current Ninth generation I have no interest in PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or Switch 2 at least not yet.
