Im buying a 3000 model in the near future after my GO recently bit the dust after 17 years
and i was wondering if these batteries that are all over ebay are legit or not?
Dont want to use a faulty battery in my new handheld afterall

They aren't legit but better than nothing since all the real batteries are old and used up.
It's not going to hurt your psp so grab a couple of them.

You never know, but it's better than nothing.

Unless things have changed in the last few years aftermarket PSP batteries are kinda bad from my experience. Unfortunately a lot of OEM batteries are starting to swell marking them unsafe to use.

Also if you don't mind me asking what's wrong with your current PSP? They're actually pretty easy to repair if it's something simple like a bad screen or joystick if you wanna go the repair route I'm happy to help!

okay so to clarify, when i say "legit" i dont mean official, i mean are they the kind of bootleg where they could potentially fry my handheld

The quality isn't the best, but it's totally fine to use them. When it's time to replace it, you can go with the recommended options.

the actual port where you plug in the battery has its circuits fried, only way to easily fix would be to swap out the board itself

No, lol, and they also expand pretty quickly aswell, but if you use it only for a couple of months, you should be fine.
