N64 Are there any good “Movie game adaptations” out there?

A movie based on a game that is good ..................................................................................................................................... ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Uh, no. Sorry but most are either very bad or very meh. I guess these might be ok to watch if you haven't:
Street Fighter the Movie(irony is it is based off SFII)
Pixels
Detective Pikachu

Street Fighter is a cult classic that I liked, but only cause Raul Julia made it worth to watch...

Ummm I don’t think you understand what I mean, like games based on movies

the nightmare before christmas and ghost rider both have decent ps2 hack n slash titles. i haven't played too many of these, a lot of them were bad so i just started avoiding them.

not really a movie, but there was this ed edd n eddy ps2 game that i remember being kind of vaguely impressed with back in the day. it wasn't great and i remember it being kind of glitchy, but my expectations for games based on media were low and it definitely exceeded them. the simpsons also had some cool games.

Not really "fully based" on the movie, but Iron Man for the PS2 was good enough for me

Graphics was good, controls are passable and the plot was quite extended...

EDIT: Sorry, I just noticed that your thread flair says "N64", the only good adaptation of a movie I managed to play was GoldenEye 007

OTOH, it wasn't really based on a movie but many movies had portrayed the parts in it, the game I'm referring to is Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

SpongeBob SquarePants The Movie home console video game is fine. Not as good as Battle for Bikini Bottom, but a perfectly decent 3D platformer of its time.

N64 wise? I can only think of the basics off the top of my head. GoldenEye, World is not enough..Hmm..any other N64 movie tie ins?

Nobody has mentioned The Terminator for Sega CD thus far therefore i will do so. From what I've played i've enjoyed, and you got none other than Tommy Tallarico on the OST.
Ever played Messiah for PC? Another TommyT soundtrack and good old game about being an angel and possessing people

oh...still none, but If you want great games based on novels, I can provide a good list.

Though Jurassic Park on genesis was fun. You get to play as a raptor. Also Star Wars Arcade game, the rail shooter one. Unfortunately it was only released in the arcades and requires the hardware if you want to play. Mame doesn't work yet.

HMM from what ive seen the new Robo cop video game that released on steam was considered good especially compared to other games that's based on this movie. Starship troopers actually seems to have good games on its ip like terran command

here's the links on steam:

however on older consoles its almost impossible since game companies tend to rush these games out in order to capture the hype of its movie release

and starship troopers extermination seems to be getting good however its still needs to be looked with a grain of salt since it released with pretty bad rep but games do get better if the devs are passionate enough

Well you put a N64 tag so not that I like it a lot but in the context of the question IDK which game to say other than Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.

For its time the game was good for action gameplay. Your guy can fly and in certain places can even ride speed bike thingy they ride in Star Wars universe. I also think you could pilot a space ship, IDK. I remember the variety of the gameplay that was fun though until you get bored lol. Other than this I don't remember liking any N64 game based on a movie.

On the contrary, I think that there a lot of good adaptations but we tend to prejudge them. Of course, GoldenEye 007 is one of them. But I also so think of games like Star Wars: Episode I: Racer, not exactly an adaptation but taking place in the same universe.

If we talk about games not only relased on N64, RoboCop: Rogue City, for example was rather convincing. What about Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, adaptation of the Dragon Quest: Your Story movie? (Just kidding)

Some of these aren't based on specific movies, but are great:
Robocop: Rouge City and Terminator Resistance are incredible.
Most of the EA bond games.
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge
Spider-man 2 and The Amazing Spider-man (NOT The Amazing Spider-man 2, that's terrible)
Scarface
King Kong
Tron 2.0 and Evolution
Ghostbusters: The Video Game
The Godfather (and part 2)
Harry Potter (Not Goblet of fire or Deathly Hallows)

Joey Kuras employed by Tommy Tallarico did the music for Terminator SCD and Messiah on PC, Tommy only did the sound effects if anything.

Spider-Man 2 The Game
Scarface: The World is Yours
The SpongeBob Movie Game
Goldeneye 007
The Godfather Game
X-Man Origins Wolverine The Game (better than the actual movie)
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith The Game
King Kong 2005
Cars 2 The Game (also better than the actual movie)
Lord of the Rings PS2 Trilogy
Most of the EA Bond games
Toy Story 2 The Game
Toy Story 3 The Game
Shrek 2 The Game
The Terminator (Sega CD)
Die Hard Trilogy PS1

- Demolition Man on SEGA Genesis.

- Home Alone games on SEGA Genesis.

- Blade 1 on PS1.

- The Fifth Element on PS1. (Perhaps I liked this game more than I should lol.)

- Harry Potter games on PS1 and Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix on PS2 are so good.

- Evil Dead: Regeneration on PS2.

- RoboCop on PS2. (Immersive and you can flip your gun anytime you want.)

- Predator: Concrete Jungle on PS2.

- Back to the Future: The Game on PC.

- Deadpool on PC. (If Spider-Man counted, why not Deadpool then lol.)

I really loved the PS2 Minority Report game for some reason when I was younger lol. I have no clue if it's actually good but I remember loving the ragdolls

I just took a nostalgia trip through A Bug's Life on PS1, and yes I said nostalgia, but it is very much a solid puzzle platformer with a great soundtrack and super fun gameplay.

Mortal Kombat, the first one at least. Wasn't a bad adaptation of the game... mind you, it was PG-13, and that kind of ruined the whole fight-to-the-death vibe, but overall, it's a good, campy adaptation of the game.

...goblins...
