Are there any genuinely good Philips CD-i games?

Hotel Mario is the only one I can think of that comes remotely close, but even so it's extremely primitive. Like an old Atari game except with fancier graphics and sounds.

Yes, though it's mostly just multi-platform games like "Flashback", "Lemmings" or "Tetris."

As much of a meme as it is I actually don't think Link: The Faces of Evil is all that bad. The other two Zelda games really are trash, but FoE is pretty decent if you can get used to the controls. The stage backgrounds are also quite pretty for the time.

How does the Wand of Gamelon differ from Faces of Evil? They released at the same time and on the surface they sort of look the same

The areas and enemy placements are just more obnoxiously designed, they control the same one is just a better experience than they other.

This maybe a dumb question but,I often hear how the Philips CD-i is one of the worst video game consoles of all time and I’m curious as to if there’s any games that are worth a try

I thought Voyeur was kinda cool for an FMV game. Lost Eden is good if you have the DVC, Burn Cycle is probably considered it's best game

it had some decent FMV light gun games like Mad Dog Macree and Thunder in Paradise

You can watch Fatal Attraction in it, or hear some Fletwood Mac music

Everything is worth a try and good is subjective. I don't know what it might be, but maybe the game that ends up being your all time favorite is a cd-i game you just haven't tried yet.

Yes, but you're better off playing them elsewhere. And they're all FMV games: Braindead, Space Ace, and Myst.

There's a CD-i game called Laser Lords that's kind of neat. It's like an side-view adventure game with multiple planets to explore. The exploration is vaguely metroid-ish iirc. It also has goofy CG and voice acting. I haven't played it myself, but I watched someone play the whole thing a while back. Not sure if it fully works on emulator.

The Tetris version of that system is one of the weirdest but also one of my favorites, the concept that a monolith emerges from the sea just for the purpose of allowing us to play Tetris on it I think it's a crazy idea, but I love it. The avant-garde music and beautiful landscapes make me feel like I'm playing Tetris in the weather forecast. Haha.

That tetris is probably far from the best but god damn is it a relaxing one.
Playing tetris on a a weird old 90's gaming console with serene backgrounds of forests, waterfalls and a soundtrack straight out of an old mall's background music system is something the kids could even call aesthetic lol.
Probably also the only cd-i game that I've spent any real amount of time playing to be honest.
