I know this is rather overly-ambitious request, but I would like to at least hear the feedback on it.

Over the years intrest in retro games slowly burns away. Upon completing the game people tend leave nothing but memories behind, while digital progress is lost in time.
I just thought if would nice to have a place where community of people with a hobby of playing video games could share this progress with the rest of the world, and archive it while it's still there.

I personally own dozens those files from the fully finished walktroughs of a console games which I will never touch again. Unable to share them with anyone else in a meaningful way.

Maybe it's bit to much, but at least I would like know what the others may think of it. :)

I remember when GameFAQs did this with PS1 save files that were uploaded via DexDrive. The save files came in 2 flavors: saves at the end of the game, and saves at the beginning of the game. Both would have everything (levels, equipment, unlocks, etc) that you should have by the end of the game. Would be nice to have both so we can have New Game+ for games that never had that option coded into them.

this idea could help with making checklists for some games or taking screenshots of enemy stats and stuff for lists and walkthroughs. some games are obscure and have very little information available on them. i remember finding very little info for nearly anything while playing oreshika tainted bloodlines. i found like one guide that explained how the stats worked.
it would also be interesting to see what games people played all the way through. i don't do that for many games.

Totally this was my situation with 7th Dragon on the DS, the wiki has info for classes, skills and parts of the early game but the moment you get to the second continent you are basically on your own. It also is a lot easier to get a lot of saves nowadays compared to before as most of the time people don't delete them unless they are fully getting rid of the emulator they used.

I've been casually hoping for something like this for decades ever since I lost my copy of Pokemon Blue. I never remember to bring it up for some reason! Major support from here.
