Have you ever found or heard of an arcade game with controls that not too many other machines have, if any? Most arcade machine will have a joystick and buttons or a light gun or a steering wheel, pedals, and a stick shift like a car. But what arcade games have you come across that have control schemes that are very much out of the ordinary.

For me, that's Boong-Ga Boong-Ga.

Boong-Ga Boong-Ga is a game from 2001 where you pick a victim and spank them. That being said there is a plastic rear end sticking out of the front of the cabinet. You have to spank the plastic butt and if you spank them just right, not too hard, not too soft, the game gives you a little plastic trophy that looks like a golden smiling poo. This game was only in Japan and Korea by the way if you couldn't tell. this ad, which was very badly translated by the way, was an attempt to get it to the west but to no avail. Gee, I wonder why?

There's Panic Park, a 2-Player Arcade game where the goal is to hold onto a lever and shove your friend to the side

Seems like it would be pretty easy to slam your hands together and get bloody knuckles :loldog

Boong-Ga Boong-Ga

I’m not sure what I can say about this game. I think I’ll let that picture of it do most of the talking, with the added caveat that the purpose of the game is maybe not quite as rude as you were thinking. Only just, mind you. Using your hand, or the plastic finger attachment, the player has to either spank or generally punish characters that make life difficult, from gangsters to ex-boyfriends to mothers-in-law. Yes, I’ve been deliberately vague with the phrase “generally punish”. Use your imagination, or even better, don’t.

Boong-Ga Boong-Ga is quite possibly the weirdest idea for a machine in all of history, as it’s the only game I know of with a plastic bent-over behind for a controller, and it dispenses a small plastic trophy shaped like a pile of faeces if you get a high enough score. Snacks ’n’ Jaxson barely raises an eyebrow in comparison.

Never found one in the wild (I wish)
But the first one that came to mind was this one. You had a series of escalating opponents/obstacles coming at you and you had to punch the daylights out of them all. From a thug, to a truck, a monster or even a freakin' meteorite (Now THAT would have been an alternate ending to the movie Armageddon).
And by punch, the game meant literally. It provided a pair of gloves and you had to punch the target at the right time. Too weak or too early/late and you lost.

There's the original Street Fighter 1 cabinet with the two big pressure sensitive buttons too. How hard you hit the buttons determined if you got a light, medium, or heavy punch/kick. They were phased out for the now famous 6-button layout due to people hitting them way too hard and breaking them.

Compared to the above offerings mine will likely come off as boring but, there were no other arcades that work like this one: Silent Scope

For those that have not had the pleasure there is a small screen in the scope of the rifle that shows a zoomed in view of what you are pointing at. Super fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously.

In magical truck adventure, you and other player must use this item to escape from the japanese versions of Tiñoso y Canijo 😂😂.

Prop cycle was better suited for people with a good physical condition, since you got to advance pedaling for the levels.

That's called koncho.

It's also what Kakashi's technique, "One Thousand Years of Death", is based on.

I remember playing Konami's Police 911 game at Dave & Busters arcade. I thought it was the next evolution to Time Crises' Duck and Cover foot pedal mechanic.
They made a boxing one too. Both were a lot of fun! Too bad they don't make anything like it anymore. I feel like these would still be a hit at the arcades today.
I would love to see a modern version using a webcame or something that I could put on my TV and play.

Trackball arcade games like defender had the risk of electric shock here in Perú.
