Cartoons Aqua Teen Hunger Force Appreciation Post

I can remember when this show first aired on Adult Swim (back when all it was, was old people swimming in a pool) and used to think this show was straight trash. A couple years in I pick it up and for some reason found this show fucking hilarious.

The characters. I mean almost every character (hero, villain, neighbor lol) are classic.
Adult Swim has a special spot on my top cartoons list.
DANCING IS FORBIDDEN!

I didn't really get most of the humor in the show but I thought the neighbor boomer character was hilarious.

The Broodwich has got to be the best episode no contest. One of the best cartoons ever, and it was made with almost no budget. Early Adult Swim is an enigma, and a childhood highlight of mine even if I shouldn't have been watching. You should try out Zombie Ninja Pro Am on PS2 if you haven't. Goofy ass game, based on Ninja Golf for whichever Atari. (I wanna say the 7800?)

This guy (Carl) is a pivotal part of the show. If he wasn't in it I don't know how well it would have done. Fucking great parts in the show that he's the antagonist haha

Carl is the best part of the show, without him the show would have been terrible.

internet archive is a good place to look. i found the entire series there before getting the complete collection dvd box set. it has 20 discs. all episodes and the movie with bonus feature for the movie.

Aqua teen was such a great show, i remember watching this at adult swim as a kid and my mom being terrified of the ammount of curse words being used LOL

Maybe we should have another thread about all the Adult Swim original shows. Metalocalypse was my favorite. Harvey Birdman, attorney at law was solid and the OG Space Ghost coast to coast.

Sealab and Squidbillies was always funny too. Sealab is a weird one though.

i got the metalocalypse dvd boxset as a birthday gift. had to stop watching after 1 disc. hurt my throat too much from laughing.

As someone who grew up watching Adult Swim way younger than I was supposed to, so like half their audience, a lot of Adult Swim of that era was a special brand of dumbfuck edgelord stoner humor. It's kind of hard for me to explain. You either need to be said dumbfuck (hi I'm dumbfuck) or be high off your ass.

Yeah that was my operating theory. I wasn't a habitual stoner but I can see how those shows are more appealing under those conditions. (granted, even PBS is appealing in that circumstance)

I still remember the episode where they try to go on a diet. Metalocalypse really had this "group of dumbasses casually shooting the shit in absurd situations" shtick that would later be more popular in Regular Show. Metalocalypse is basically Regular Show for metalheads, by metalheads.

That was me for a lot of their stuff, but it's one of those quotable shows that stick with you throughout the years.

I used to enjoy watching it on Adult Swim as a kid and I do remember that one episode where Meatwad had those paper towel holder friends.

Sealab and Squidbillies was always funny too. Sealab is a weird one though.

I remember both of them and the Oblongs too.
