There is a new Fan Translation of a PC98 Game:

I was not able to patch a .cue of the game because the patcher always said that the Patcher does not support any. Either .iso does not work.

Does anyone make it?

I have managed to get this game to work, but I'm stuck in it. I can defeat the dragon boss on the mountain, but during the cutscene after the fight the game starts to flicker japanese text that appears to say something akin to "insert disk a and click the mouse". Is anyone else playing this game and managed to get past this part?

Did you ever resolve this? I had the exact same issue, and nothing I tried (including different emulators and swapping my saves into an unpatched version of the game) ever worked. Translation team never replied to my email. If you managed to proceed please let me know, as this was my most hyped game for years and it still irks me months later I couldn't continue.

A new patch was released last week that allegedly fixes the problem (the problem was evidently bad characters inserted into some text). The new patch is 0.9.9.2 and can be found at the same link in the OP.

where did you get the info? i'm curious because the site didn't even state anything unless youu download the patch and read the readme

I joined a PC-98 discord and one of the guys on the translation team informed me/us of the update.

I can confirm at this time that Appareden can now be completed. I have defeated the final boss of the game.
