Always thought that Monks/Priests being able to convert enemy troops to your side was one of the most interesting aspects of the Age Of Empires franchise.
But boy, did I hate it.
I had a buddy who just loved spawning clusters of the suckers and getting them behind his columns to convert my troops during skirmishers and battles. He'd also pack them inside battering rams and sneak them to my camp through breaches and holes in the defense.
It drove me fucking nuts.
Regardless, I thought that this was what made AoE stand out amidst the myriad of strategy games we could be playing instead, and it's not something I often see brought up in conversation.
How do you feel about this mechanic?
