Over the years there have been a fair few MMOs that I've played which ran entirely from the browser.

I think the first one I remember getting into was Adventure Quest. It was kind of shitty but I remember everyone in my highschool playing this shit for a year or so.

The graphics were crappy but it could run on a school computer with a semi-working blocklist.

Of course, as soon as I wasn't in highschool and limited to a shitty computer/ had my own internet connection, it stopped being all that interesting.

I eventually moved onto some text/still image-based Pokémon MMO that I can't remember the name of, before stumbling across Kingdom of Loathing which is also largely animation-less and playable on anything.

These days I mostly enjoy Fallen London (a.k.a - Echo Bazaar) and have stopped playing the others.

So you guys still playing any browser based MMOs? There's the obvious huge one that is still seeing updates to this damn day, but you can even launch that shit through steam now so I'm.not sure if it counts anymore? ::thinking

I recall trying a couple browser MMOs (whose names I forgot but both were 2d and I think pixelated) back in 2022 but then I lost interest

oh man, huge nostalgia surge!
back in like 2012 or so, there was a show on cartoon network called level up. it was basically about three dudes hunting mobs from a mmo they played with their weapons from that game.

you had geek wyatt, whose character was a machine "gun" wielding skeleton-human hybrid.
typical highschool jock lyle (who'd end up playing atrain in the boys for some reason) whose character was a multi caster wizard (appropriately named wizzah)
and of course, impulsive daredevil dante whose character was sir bickle, a bat wielding maniac, replicating much of dante's character irl.

i used to watch that show SO MUCH and to this day thank it for getting me into games like diablo and fate

and one day i found out the game they hunted mobs from (and also played) was a real thing! or so i thought....

may i introduce to you, maldark: conqueror of all worlds! of course, it was not a one to one recreation, but a very dumbed down flash port.
choosing sir bickle (my fav from the show) i played it for a bit and i really enjoyed it as a kid, but after compiling the demo version (since this game was long long gone) and playing it again, i realised that the game is nothing more than a shitty dungeon crawler, like fate but worse.

however, it did spark my love for dungeon crawlers and mmos, so i'll give it credit for at least doing that.

The only browser MMO I remember playing is Cartoon Network's FusionFall, which is now defunct. I think the fans brought it back, though.

i play that browser mmo called retrogametalk dot com but am very casual and slow am still level 2

the goal of this game is to say stupid stuff to make other players laugh then you get points or something like that

https://ynoproject.net/ is great but i don't play much (it's yume nikki online)

there was this game i loved at the time called Asa de Cristal (crystal wing), which i just checked out here the original korean name was Gonggi Nori, and it was so cool at the time lol. I remember playing it whenever i was not able to play ragnarok, and at some points i would only play this game, flash games and retro emulators. It looked beautiful and i still find the artstyle pretty charming.
At the end of the day its your usual korean-cashshop-p2w stuff and its a browser game so its kinda laggy and clunky sometimes, but ill admit: Just talking about it is making me want to check it out again hahahah. A screenshot from the game i took from a youtube video.

Forlorn Hope/Lands of hope
Sherwood forest
Strife Shadow Fantasy
Tactics Arena

Forlorn Hope/Lands of hope

Oh my god, Ive never stopped thinking about Forlorn Hope. Played that everyday in school lol. Other than a few, runescape, Adventure Quest, and a few rpg style forums Ive been out of the browser mmo for awhile until these last few years lol I current 'play' The Ninja Rpg , Space Alpha , Torn , and Monsters and Mayors.

Forgot to add Poke Nexus -- played this one back when I had a lot going on IRL and kind of fell out of it but its a good game imo

Also Fusion Fall <-- its back if you still want to jump on but its no longer browser lol

Also Also Land of Hope <-- it seems to be the original game remade but they seem to hide a lot behide a pay wall might check out at a later date.

That sounds sort of dope tbh. I remember playing a lot of the CN games like 'Cartoon Cartoon Summer Resort' but I never heard of this one. I might have to give the fan re-creation a go at some point.

Honestly, this looks pretty impressive for a browser-based MMO, though I've never heard of it. Looks like a pretty classic-style isometric MMO.
Forlorn Hope/Lands of hope
Sherwood forest
Strife Shadow Fantasy
Tactics Arena
I'm kind of a robin hood fan so I wanna know what TF Sherwood Forest is!? Also I might have to try out Forlorn Hope at some point since it's still going.

Poke Nexus is super familiar, I feel like I might have an account there still tbh.

Also quite intruged by "Monsters and Mayors" if only because of the DnD-like naming convention lmao

From what I can remember it wasn't like, super engaging as a game, but half the fun came from seeing all the artistic recreations of classic CN characters in a bizarre faux-anime style, and the role they played in this sort of multiverse story:
