Any war games on the PS2, NDS, GBA or SNES that heavily features battle formations?

This was the only game I know of that uses the system of battle formations in a war-themed game

By battle formations I mean the famous fundamental formations of Line (abreast), Column, Echelon, Wedge, Crane Wing/V; formations that were used in medieval warfare and before, and still used by naval and in certain armored cavalry situations today

The usage of these formations are determined beforehand in the game I mention above (Ginga Sengoku Gunyuuden Rai), not organically/manually done during battle; therefore the unit(s) move and fight in formation.

And because the formations are different, the attack ranges and defences also varies (e.g. some units might be out of attack range in the echelon formation); this is the kind of game(s) I'm looking for

Any recommendations?

EDIT: gameplay video. See how the units move in formation, the different formations each group has and how that affects their attack parameters

Ginga Sengoku Gunyuuden Rai is also pretty decent anime/manga if you like stuff from the same generation as Slayers, Outlaw Star, etc. It has a bit of a cult following among Arabic speaking anime fans, oddly enough. Hope the SNES game gets patched.

@fnf I only got into Ginga Sengoku Gunyuuden Rai recently, but it really does scratch the same itch as Slayers-era shows—quirky worldbuilding, big personalities, and that very ’90s charm. I was surprised too at how strong the Arabic-speaking fan community is around it, which helped me appreciate it more. Now I’m really hoping the SNES game patch happens so more people can actually experience it.

The anime adaptation was produced by the same studio that produced the Slayers TV anime, as a matter of fact.
