I was looking around my old comic books and found this Tenchi Muyo art book. I don't remember how I got this particular book. I think they were giving these out for free at a local anime con with purchases. Its a good reference for learning how to draw manga so I might get some use of it now that I'm practicing more. I'll post a few pics and if anyone is interested I can post more.

I've only got vague memories of the show - I remember thinking the little tech genius was fun - but that's a pretty cool find!

Yeah, I also only have vague memories of the show. I remember renting a Tenchi Muyo tape from Blockbuster but they didn't have a full season or anything. I did enjoy the artwork, though.

That art is really good. Do you know if its from the early 2000s? Those how to draw manga books with popular manga references were all the rage. I had one similar to this for Magic Knight Rayearth

I don't know when this particular book was printed, but I obtained it in the late 2000's. Tenchi Muyo was a early 90's TV anime show and it was dubbed to English around the mid 90s.

Edit: This isn't a how to draw book, more of a collection of production references for the anime show. But it can be used as a how to draw book.

Another Classic I've yet to get into. I will at some point for sure!

Yeah, same here. Unfortunately, they didn't have the full show at my local Blockbuster and I always caught the toonami reruns half way through. I'll have to watch it all the way from the beginning one day.

I am. First exposure was the Tenchi Muyo in Love film VHS I bought from Blockbuster. This was years before the Toonami launch. Because I wasn't familiar to the series yet, the film was confusing at times, but I still liked it. Than the series started airing on Toonami, and I watched it regularly with DBZ, and Gundam Wings.

Ah, the days of watching this on Toonami in all its censored glory. I still remember when they painted on swimsuits for Ryoko and Ayeka lol

It was very popular in Brazil around 2000, it was part of the Dragon Ball Z anime boom and aired alongside El Hazard and Bucky. The Brazilian openings from those times were awesome

Tenchi Muyo was part of my early exposure to anime. I caught it when it aired on Toonami. I've been enamored with Ryo-Ohki ever since. She's the coolest supporting character in anything ever! Cute cabbit that can shapeshift into a spaceship, a pink mecha and a human. My love for her is undying
