What I don't understand is that Anti-Cheat systems like BattlEye work with Proton, it just requires the devs to flick a switch that says "Make this work on Proton" but they don't. It's so fucking dumb. Also gamepass can't be used on Linux, there's no Wine support for UWP apps, and the Cloud system doesn't work in Chile so there also goes a big chunk of my library yayRecommend Krita instead :P Granted I don't use Photoshop, GIMP, or Krita so wouldn't know how vastly different they are.
But Linux for Gaming you will find is generally the same as on Windows. In some situations even better especially with Proton to play older games that Windows 11 would struggle to figure out how to play. But of course the one section that Windows dominates over Linux in gaming is in the Competitive Online multiplayer space since game developers won't let Linux users play their games. Destiny 2 devs will down right ban your account if they find you attempting work arounds to play their game on Linux. But not all developers are anti Linux with the 2 big ones being Gaijin (War Thunder) making their anti cheat work on Linux with the release of the Steamdeck and the guys who do Marvel Rivals who are continuing support for their Linux users and currently have no plans to block them from playing. If you're like me and mainly play single player games, mmorpgs, or the occassional Helldivers 2 linux works great for gaming without the Windows bloat.
