Asking here because I just finished Blood Dragon for the fourth time and it's still just as fun as ever :)

Love 'em! They're basically a smaller budget "B-game" spun off of a larger release, and that gives devs the means to do something a little more goofy and experimental. Blood Dragon is probably still my favorite Far Cry aside from maybe the first one.

Love'em when they expand the story organically and of courser their price is reasonable compared to the content, for only two examples that comes to my mind now:

Grimm troupe campaign, not only you get an extra event chain, but also you get the Pantheons and for those that hate themselves, two extra endings

The Treasure Trove is a expansion of an already long game with what basically amounts to three extra games

I bought Specter of Torment separately on Steam because it was on sale, and it was so good that I decided to buy the base game as well! (also separately, because Treasure Trove is expensive :P)

GOG has it in a 50% sale RN

Far Cry Blood Dragon is probably one of the weirdest game releases in my eyes. I foggily remember playing the demo on 360 and being utterly confused the whole way through.
I went back to it years later and had a better understanding and enjoyed it more, but damn-- I can't view that game as "normal" anymore. I like it, don't get me wrong. Just............ weird.

Depends on the game, but I've enjoyed a few. I really liked Uncharted: Lost Legacy as a follow-up to Uncharted 4, and Last of Us: Left Behind.

If it's sold as the price of a DLC but is standalone it's good.

If it's a DLC but sold as a full game then they clearly want more moolah.

I didn't mind Saints Row IV but when it started as a mod for The Third it had that sour taste. On the other hand Gat out of Hell is very nice and was sold for less thankfully.

I love this one more than any other FarCry game but sadly the requirement for Uplay kinda ruined it...

This is the only Alan Wake entry I've played, and I enjoyed it very much.

I like such DLCs. The lack of an Undead Nightmare 2 was my biggest disappointment of Red Dead 2.
American Nightmare was originally supposed to be Alan Wake 2. Maybe a hot take but I enjoyed it more than the actual Alan Wake 2.

Many considered it as being better than the original Half-Life

As much as some considered them as underwhelming I love the cover art being an ammo box

After that I think the Borderlands series stopped interesting me sadly...

I prefer Blue Shift/Opposing Force/Decay era Gearbox over their current era. Borderlands is feeling played out. Like they did with Brothers in Arms when it started wearing thin and they took a chance on a new IP like Borderlands, it's time to do that again.

I love Blood Dragon!

Normally I'm not a fan of the DLC model, but I think these are enough of their own game to justify being a separate purchase.
