Any hack and slash recommendation?

It matters that most fights are optional because a proper hack-n-slash is all about fighting and Way of the Samurai isn't. That makes it a different type of game, among other features.
As for the rest, your posts are always too long and you're never really saying anything. Try to collect your thoughts and edit your replies before you hit post. Good writing is concise.
Your take rather became a philosophical debate. However I respect your religion lol. I can only wish you a good day.

This too is quite the Gem and Undub is the way to go! for the two leads are voiced by Gin-san and Pikachu!

If you like 2d games, try "Lapis X Labyrinth" (I played it on Switch, but it's not exclusive).
It's colourful and fast, you explore dungeons with a timer of 5 minutes per floor, you collect tons of items and then you go back to town, equip and explore again - not roguelike, you can easily progress dungeon after dungeon. I played it twice and enjoyed it a lot, even if it's not without flaws. Different jobs, four characters in your party, just beware for flashing effects during "fever"

Personally, I like .hack//G.U.

Sure, the story isn't fantastic, but it gets the job done and makes sense; there's a point to it aside from mindlessly fighting enemies one after another.

Otherwise a fun and graphically pleasing game with a neat steampunk style to it.
Sounds good. Actually, It has been on my hard drive for several months, but I haven't played it yet, so maybe it's time start.

Sword of the berserk for Dreamcast along with the PS2 berserk game is good if your not only looking for a interesting yet strange plot and atmosphere but also if your looking for a a great time killer when your board in my opinion
Actually I started playing Berserk (PS2) last week. I think it's good so far, It's simple, but entertaining.

i recommend Bujingai. the game itself isn't that great but the combat is pretty fun and engaging.
I just watched a gameplay, and looks great. I gonna try it.

Persona 5 Strikers. You can unleash chaos way more stylishly than any DMC game lol. After I played this game any other hack and slash seemed like "space war" lol, but of course MGR will always be the legendary hack and slash that I'll always have fun.

Turn based combat fans who call me a fool because I don't like how tactical turn based games can be should bow down to Persona 5 Striker's real sense of strategical combat style and try not to melt their head when they come up with tactical decisions in every 1 second to befit their one ultimate strategical plan. My guy thinks for 10 hours to decide in turn-based combat and calls me a fool when I say it's boring because it's so sloooooow lol. Come on, play Persona 5 Strikers if you have 400 IQ and survive in the hardest difficulty by remembering every weakness of enemies and the right weapons to choose on the spot so fast lololol.

Ufff Persona 5 strikers is a master piece. I didn't mention it because I consider it more of a musou than a traditional hack and slash, but I know the game, I have played it, and I love it.

Ninja Blade was pretty neat! ::winkfelix
I've actually played ninja blade before. I think it's fine and I just played it a couple of times, that's why I forgot to mention.

Way of the Samurai is also pretty cool.

Sounds like you just want to have a good time & be greatly entertained by the games' combat. Neat that you played a lot of uncommon titles!

If you just want modern straight gameplay with options & customization out of the wazoo, Nioh / Nioh 2 without a doubt.

PS2 has a lot but you've probably heard of God Hand. Nightshade is also excellent.
God Hand gives you the whole kitchen sink to play with but the game is hard. Nightshade may be more linear, but its got a kickass soundtrack, an addicting combat flow & tons of content & replayability.

There's also all the Onimushas, certainly Dawn of Dreams!

You've probably heard of Viewtiful Joe as well! But trust, it's actually a great action/platformer & deserves it's respect. Once you master the game & start getting good ranks, it feels really good. Mixes stuff up a lot on harder difficulties.

Also just mentioned this in another post, but 360/PS3 has Onechanbara Z: Kagura. This is as straight action as it gets & I was greatly entertained by it! Found myself practicing combos at times.

Honorable mentions to Parasite Eve 2 on PS1 & The 3rd Birthday on PSP. Actually fantastic action games even though story is not their strong suit. Tons of customization & NG+ stuff.

(Ugh, too many action games worth playing...)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Nioh a soulslike? cause I've heard about them, but as far as know, they are soulslikes, and don't like that.

I've played god hand. Good game, but I consider it more a brawler than a hack and slash. As for nightshade I just watched a gameplay and look good, so I gonna try it.

I just started playing first onimusha this week. The damn tank controls and fixed cameras are a pain in the ass, but combat is solid.

Yes, I've heard about beautiful Joe, it never caught my attention, but I'll give it a try.

I've played several Onechambara games, and I got tired fast. I think combat is too simple.

As for parasite eve... well, they are good games, but no what I'm looking for.

The Van Helsing and Ghost Rider movie games are decent Devil May Cry clones. Nothing that will blow you away but they're solid fun nonetheless.

I've played ghost rider before, basically God of war, but a great copy of god of war, however, I've never played Van Helsing, so I'll give it a try.

Oh, Assault Spy too! Has pretty great combat. ::fire
This one looks great, unfortunately is only for PC, and my toaster (also known as PC), is not for games, so I have to pass.

Rising Zan for the PS1 it's a proto hack 'n slash before hack 'n slash were a thing. Crisis Beat and Gekido are PS1 Beat 'Em Ups with some slight hack 'n slash elements, both really fun. The Kingdom Hearts franchise (Particularly the second and the Handheld games) is fun and you can do some sick things at them. Shinobi PS2 game is really sick, and also has a very fun sequel (Nightshade). Capcom published a really good DMC-like Nightmare Before Christmas for the PS2. Nano Breaker, Sword of Etheria, and the PS2 Castlevanias are also cool Konami experiments.
I've played Rising Zan I think it is an entertaining and funny game, and yes is some kind of proto-hack and slash. However, I can't say the same with crisis beat and gekido, so I watched a gameplay and look great. As for kindom heart, I've never pay atention to it cause Disney doesn't apeal much to me, but I'll give it a try. I haven't played shinobi, so I'll, looks good. I also played Nightmare before chrismas, good game. As for other capcom's games, I'll give them a try.

I personally like this game. I can't explain why, tho. Just feels right.

True, Rising Zan is the prototype for all those PS2 games. It's really frustrating at times, though. Not super polished. Soul of the Samurai on the PS1 is pretty good too.
Soul of the samurai looks good. I'll give it a try.

You think Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is a master piece??????, then I like you dude, you have great taste.
By the way, I recommend Transformers: Devastation

I should be ashamed for forgetting to mention this gem. What a master piece.

Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed and Megatagmension Blanc are pretty basic but very fun, the Senran Kagura franchise might be good too
I've played senran kagura burst renewal and estival versus. I think they are decent games, but I could't say the same about idea factory's games, I've played neptunia four goddess online and senran kagura x neptunia and I got bored fast, so they doesn't give me confidence. Would you recommend them a lot?

Not exactly what I'm looking for, but it looks great. It reminds me of games like odin sphere and dragon's crown.
