Last year I discovered by chance "Soulstice", a hack and slash in the pure style of Devil May Cry, and as a huge fan of this kind of games, I would like to know if i'm missing any hiden hack and slash like this one, so if you know any similar game (a game which gameplay is similar to devil may cry), please tell me. These are the hack and slash I've played and my opinion about them, so please don't recommend them to me:

DMC 1,3,5 (Master pieces)
DMC 2,4 (bad and mediocre respectively)
God of War (All Master pieces)
Ninja Gaiden 1-3 (Master pieces)
Bayonetta 1 (Master Piece)
Darksiders 1 (great)
Darksiders 2 (I dont like it)
Killer is dead (great)
No more heroes (good)
Dantes Inferno (Great)
Metal Gear Rising (great)
Castlevania Lords of shadows 1 and 2 (Great)
Lollipop chainsaw (Mediocre)
Nier Automata (Mediocre)
X-men origins wolverine (great)
Blades of Time (mediocre)
Punishing grey raven (master piece)
Honkai Impact (Excellent)
Aether Gazer (decent)
valkyrie elysium (I haven't played this, I just know it exists)

Personally, I like .hack//G.U.

Sure, the story isn't fantastic, but it gets the job done and makes sense; there's a point to it aside from mindlessly fighting enemies one after another.

Otherwise a fun and graphically pleasing game with a neat steampunk style to it.

Sword of the berserk for Dreamcast along with the PS2 berserk game is good if your not only looking for a interesting yet strange plot and atmosphere but also if your looking for a a great time killer when your board in my opinion

Persona 5 Strikers. You can unleash chaos way more stylishly than any DMC game lol. After I played this game any other hack and slash seemed like "space war" lol, but of course MGR will always be the legendary hack and slash that I'll always have fun.

Turn based combat fans who call me a fool because I don't like how tactical turn based games can be should bow down to Persona 5 Striker's real sense of strategical combat style and try not to melt their head when they come up with tactical decisions in every 1 second to befit their one ultimate strategical plan. My guy thinks for 10 hours to decide in turn-based combat and calls me a fool when I say it's boring because it's so sloooooow lol. Come on, play Persona 5 Strikers if you have 400 IQ and survive in the hardest difficulty by remembering every weakness of enemies and the right weapons to choose on the spot so fast lololol.

Way of the Samurai is also pretty cool.

Lol. Perhaps the Way of the Samurai series can be considered as "an immersive sim hack and slash comedy" genre because even the attack moves and how people are getting damage is so funny, watching them rolling in the air like a coin just makes you almost die laughing lol.

Way of the Samurai is great but it's not a hack-n-slash... it's an action-adventure game where most fights are optional. It's a bit hard to get into a first because everything you do influences the rest of the story (it's a short game you have to play multiple times to see most of the story) and you can die permanently, but it's really worth it IMO. Different genre though. The spin-off Samurai Western is a straight-up hack-n-slash though, so you can check that one out.
Those Berserk games are bottom-of-the-barrel unfortunately.

I would definitely recommend Samurai Western, which turned out much better than it's name and presentation suggests. 😄

"Action" means the game is not turn based combat game. All hack and slash games are action games but not all action games are hack and slash games. Video games can be a collection of multiple genres. However if the game only aims to make players shoot as a fundamental gameplay mechanic then we call them "shooter". It doesn't mean the character cannot use other forms to kill if the player chooses so. It doesn't matter if most fights are optional. What matters is the gameplay type the game has.

For example, what is GTA San Andreas? It's open world action-adventure TPS with RPG elements. What is Deus Ex 1? It's an Immersive sim FPS game. What's Way of The Samurai? Action - Adventure Hack and Slash RPG. What is the original Final Fantasy 7? Turn-based Adventure RPG.

You may question what "adventure" means here. It means the game is beyond going from A to B and killing stuff. The player has a choice on where to go, how to go and what to do where they are by puzzle-solving elements and optional locations to go.

The new generation sense is reducing meanings to their meaningless core because they are too lazy to say it. For example "Farewell" means nothing, it's actually "Fare thee well." "Farewell" is wrong and caveman's expression of the English language lol. If English language keep being killed more, I already don't understand what kids says because they are like "jubulu jubuly deeeez nuts" lol, then when the atomic bomb of laziness dropped making Oblomov jealous I will be able to understand what cats trying to say better lololol.

It matters that most fights are optional because a proper hack-n-slash is all about fighting and Way of the Samurai isn't. That makes it a different type of game, among other features.
As for the rest, your posts are always too long and you're never really saying anything. Try to collect your thoughts and edit your replies before you hit post. Good writing is concise.

Sounds like you just want to have a good time & be greatly entertained by the games' combat. Neat that you played a lot of uncommon titles!

If you just want modern straight gameplay with options & customization out of the wazoo, Nioh / Nioh 2 without a doubt.

PS2 has a lot but you've probably heard of God Hand. Nightshade is also excellent.
God Hand gives you the whole kitchen sink to play with but the game is hard. Nightshade may be more linear, but its got a kickass soundtrack, an addicting combat flow & tons of content & replayability.

There's also all the Onimushas, certainly Dawn of Dreams!

You've probably heard of Viewtiful Joe as well! But trust, it's actually a great action/platformer & deserves it's respect. Once you master the game & start getting good ranks, it feels really good. Mixes stuff up a lot on harder difficulties.

Also just mentioned this in another post, but 360/PS3 has Onechanbara Z: Kagura. This is as straight action as it gets & I was greatly entertained by it! Found myself practicing combos at times.

Honorable mentions to Parasite Eve 2 on PS1 & The 3rd Birthday on PSP. Actually fantastic action games even though story is not their strong suit. Tons of customization & NG+ stuff.

(Ugh, too many action games worth playing...)

Rising Zan for the PS1 it's a proto hack 'n slash before hack 'n slash were a thing. Crisis Beat and Gekido are PS1 Beat 'Em Ups with some slight hack 'n slash elements, both really fun. The Kingdom Hearts franchise (Particularly the second and the Handheld games) is fun and you can do some sick things at them. Shinobi PS2 game is really sick, and also has a very fun sequel (Nightshade). Capcom published a really good DMC-like Nightmare Before Christmas for the PS2. Nano Breaker, Sword of Etheria, and the PS2 Castlevanias are also cool Konami experiments.

True, Rising Zan is the prototype for all those PS2 games. It's really frustrating at times, though. Not super polished. Soul of the Samurai on the PS1 is pretty good too.

Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed and Megatagmension Blanc are pretty basic but very fun, the Senran Kagura franchise might be good too

Musou games are not at all like DMC in how it feels to play, but playing it with the same combo-centric mindset is actually pretty fun. Prolly not what you're looking for tho, but thought it was worth a mention.
