I particularly like...

Dragon Quest IX.

TrackMania DS.

Super Mario 64 DS.

Yoshi's Island DS.

Izuna: Legend Of The Unemployed Ninja.

MLB Power Pros.
I’m interested in Mario 64 DS, the original was fantastic
I always really had fun with Electroplankton if you can get your hands on it !!
and that sounds interesting

Definitely Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

Staying on the cheaper side of things, the Final Fantasy III/IV 3D remakes and Etrian Odyssey come to mind.
Sorry for bothering but are these versions of Final Fantasy games recommended to play over their original versions?

if youre into fashion or dress up games at all Style Savvy is realllyyyy fun & cute. the fashion is kinda dated being a game from 2009 but you can still make some cute outfits. the dialogue has a sort of animal crossing feel to it & the characters have a lot of personality.
and it looks like this

critically underrated game
(the 3DS games are even better but ill save that essay for another time)

If I gave you a list...probably take 2 decades...believe me. So here is a couple that are fun.

Megaman ZX and advent
Starfy
Kirby Squeak Squad

and if you like rpg/srpg

Mario Luigi
Contact
SUPER ROBOT WARS W(you can play SRWJ for GBA first, its kinda like a prequel so you will know most of the characters story so far)

I'm not in the business of taking sides on the matter. However, I did play both of them (actually my first taste of both games) and found them to be fine. Going the physical route, they're also cheaper than other options.

No problem whatsoever, thank you for replying it's just that I've never played any of these games so choosing is quite difficult.

If you like jrpg's, the game nostalgia/wind of nostalgia is a good and highly unknown jrpg.
Dragon quest 4, 5 and i believe 6 all have english versions on the DS as well.

Look for gameplay videos: FF3 and FF4 on Nintendo DS remakes are in 3d, the characters are somehow chibi, I found them beautiful and I enjoyed them (of the original version of early FF, I've only played FF1, but I prefer the graphics in ds games). It all comes to that (and MAYBE to some quality-of-life features?).

For recommended titles: if you go physical I believe many hidden gems won't be easy to find at cheap price, but here's my list.

*Suikoden Tierkreis (turn-based rpg with lots of characters to recruit)
*Okamiden (spin-off/sequel to Okami), drawing with the touch screen is awesome and even if on little screen they kept the great atmosphere of the original game
*Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV as they already said, great turn-based rpg
*Hotel Dusk and Last Window, great adventure/point-and-click games, you hold the console vertically like a book
*Super Princess Peach, platformer with Peach having superpowers and being the star of the show
*Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings, strategy in real time
*Another Code, if you haven't played the remake on Switch (which includes also the sequel) try this, after ending this game I felt no need for a sequel though, it's another point-and-click from same developers of Hotel Dusk

There's only one game I can recommend because I haven't played any other DS titles. Well technically this one neither, but its a remake from the DS, so the story is the same. It just got some graphical improvement and a bit of added story in the 3DS. Good story, awesome soundtrack from Yōko Shimomura and full voiced, at least in the 3DS, I'm not sure in DS.
productimg

The Castlevania games are good if you like Symphony of the Night type games. If you are looking for RPGs, probably any of the hundreds of RPGs on the system. I heard the Chrono Trigger port was kind of meh, though. Also, Dragon Quest V, Shin Megami Tensei and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story are good RPGs.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
Etrian Odyssey I-III
Deep Labyrinth (if you can actually find a physical copy)
Kingdom Hearts ReCoded
Sonic Rush
Sonic Colors DS
Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story

get u some mario hoops 3 on 3
mega man zx/zx advent
the world ends with you
sonic rush trilogy (colors counts so its a trilogy in my heart)

Chrono Trigger is way fun, the DS version is the most complete version, Doubling down on Super Princess Peach, it is much better than the switch Peach game. If you enjoy narrative adventure games, Broken Sword is a classic that plays very well on the DS, Hotel Dusk is hard and punitive but reaaaly cool, Ghost Trick is stylized and fun ((if a bit anime sometimes(can be a plus or a minus depending on the person)), 999 is a cult classic and Another Code is kinda good, a lot of people like it, but it is geared towards younger players. Also Lego Rock Band for DS is surprisingly solid and doesn't require the peripheral that the normal one does.

KH Days is also good(Better if played in short burst), but i do prefer ReCoded and do recommend it more.
