Ore no Shikabane o Koete Yuke 2, if I remember the Asia release is in English.

community port of balatro... i have hundreds of games installed and just can't stop playing it...

Killzone Mercenary would have been great if it released on the PS3 and yet it's a Vita game. Tons of replayability and if you find a way to access botzone you can have some fun shooting bots in the multiplayer mode (online servers are sadly gone now). There aren't many other options aside from Mercenary though. Resistance Burning Skies is a decent game, but lacks in replayability. Worth an afternoon or two if you just wanna shoot some aliens though. CoD Declassified isn't unplayable and if you liked Spec-Ops mode in Modern Warfare 2 there is some fun to be had, but it's fairly underwhelming. Only one of the 3 FPS games that is still easily playable online tho and you can still find some lobbies!

For action games, if you want monster hunters you have Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars and Toukiden. If you want more of a story/atmosphere focus go Soul Sacrifice, if you want more of that core Monster Hunter style of gameplay go Toukiden and if you want something fairly fresh that's mixed with third person shooting go for Freedom Wars. Can't go wrong with any of them.

If you haven't played them before, the Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus are some of the greatest action games ever made. Even though Sigma 2 isn't considered the best version, it is still a highly unique and incredible experience everyone owes it to themselves to play. Until Master Collection on Switch, the Vita ports were the only way to experience them on the go! Truly, as far as action games on a dedicated handheld go it rarely got as good as Ninja-fucking-Gaiden! Might wanna overclock your Vita for Sigma 2 though, it has one of the biggest glow-ups when ya do as it fixes a lot of the dynamic resolution and framerate issues. Sigma 1 is just great though, nothin needed for that one.
I don’t know if anyone’s brought this up yet but online was revived like 3 months ago

on te subject of fps you can play pretty good (60fps, full res) doom, quake, duke nukem
also hexen, heretic, blood etc. etc. look on vitadb

If you're into shooters, there's a few to choose from: Killzone is the cream of the crop and the Botzone DLC provided hours of fun for me. Resident evil Revelations 2 was also great if you're willing to forgive some technical limitations. Some people would recommend Borderlands 2, but it was too dumbed down for me even though it was amazing that they even had it playable in the first place.
If you want a little anime with that and monster hunting, Freedom Wars was a great favorite of mine that combined third person shooting and melee combat and is the most mobile out of them all thanks to the thorn (read grappling hook with a few bonuses). The combat in that game is peak, though your mileage will vary on repetitiveness depending on how much you like to grind for materials for upgrades in other similar monster hunter games.
PSVita's main strength was in its Japanese games with Persona 4 Golden being the crown jewel. A very close second is Soul Sacrifice Delta and is a shame that it never made it outside that platform. Definitely one of the most unique games I've played and I can't say I played any other game like that since.

I decided to make a list of the (several) games that I played on the Vita and had a great time doing so. I'm leaving out the fanmade ports (like Final Fantasy Dimensions and AM2R) and the PSP/PS1 titles, I'm focusing only on the actual games for the PS Vita that are official...
  • Gundam Breaker 3 is a great hack 'n slash with customization options.
  • World of Final Fantasy is a charming and really fun spin-off of the Final Fantasy franchise (and you can also play Final Fantasy I to X on a Vita).
  • Shovel Knight is a Indie darling, really fun and challenging 2D Platformer.
  • Jet Set Radio HD... I love Jet Set Radio okay? If you get used to the heavier controls, you can have a lot of fun.
  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus are really good ports of the two Ninja Gaiden titles for the Vita, with only the second game having some framerate problems (but they aren't that bad).
  • Axiom Verge is a really fun Metroidvania game, with interesting puzzles and cool weapons to use.
  • Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory are AMAZING beefy RPGs with tons of content, great stories and fun mechanics. I love these games and I own a Vita because of them.
  • Muramasa Rebirth is a beautiful hack 'n slash Metroidvania, and the Vita version is the best version of the game.
  • Risk of Rain is a fun Roguelike that you can play for hours trying to survive and reach the end.
  • Salt & Sanctuary is one of my favorite games on the Vita, a 2D Soulslike that perfectly captures the Dark Souls essence, being really challenging, really fun and having a great story that is mostly told by lore descriptions.
  • Super Destronaut: Land Wars deserves more love, it is a very simple First Person Shooter game which you fight some basic enemies while accumulating coins to buy upgrades, but it is a fun distraction and I would love to see it ported to PC someday...
  • Timespinner is a great Metroidvania with amazing story, interesting time travel mechanics, fascinating world and great controls. The Vita version suffers with slowdown sometimes, but it is manageable.
  • Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a giant Classic Castlevania homage... And I love it. A lot.
  • Super Robot Wars V is a really cool Strategy RPG with GIANT ROBOTS! But beware of spoilers for certain anime, like Shin Mazinger, Rebuild of Evangelion, Might Gaine... If you want to watch any anime in this game, maybe you should watch the anime first to avoid spoilers çwç
I hope my list helps you! \o\
