Many Vita games were also released on console, there isn't much exclusives but there are some games you can get

- Persona 4 Golden (exclusive, enhanced rerelease of the PS2 original, later ported to Steam)
- Gravity Rush (exclusive, later ported to PS4)
- Odin Sphere Liefthrasir (enranced port of the PS2 original, also released for consoles and Steam)
- Muramasa The Demon Blade (enranced port of the Wii original, only way to play besides a Wii)
- The Legend of Heores: Trails in the Sky FC (enhanced ports of the PSP original, japanese only)
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC (enhanced ports of the PSP original, japanese only)
- Final Fantasy X (port of the PS2 original, based on the International version)
- Final Fantasy X-2 (port of the PS2 original, based on the International version)
- Catherine Full Body (enhanced rerelease of the PS3 original, also avaliable on cosole)

Since Monster Hunter was one of the PSP's most played games, there are many "Monster Hunter-likes" on the Vita, most of them japan only

- Freedom Wars
- Soul Sacrifice
- Ragnarok Odyssey
- Toukiden
- God Eater

On a more personal choice, they have Zen Pinball 2 for the Vita as well

Dragon's Crown is a beat-em-up with RPG mechanics, in case that still fits your desire for action games. It's gorgeous, super fun and has big booba if you're into that kind of thing.

- Freedom Wars (After decades old gaming and exploring tons of platforms even you didn't hear about this is my top 1 video game of all times!!!)

- Chaos Rings 3

- Valhalla Knights 3

- Lost Dimension

- Ragnarok Odyssey Ace

- Tales of Hearts R

- Tales of Innocence R

- Ciel Nosurge: Ushinawareta Hoshi e Sagasu Uta Offline

- Ar nosurge Plus Ode to an Unborn Star

- Phantasy Star Nova

- World of Final Fantasy

- Gravity Rush

- Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir

- Metal Max Xeno

Not really. As someone who even loves the Virtual Boy and its paltry library because there's at least a handful of games that I really enjoy, there's like 3 on Vita. It's a system that I could sell and not miss one bit. I also have a modded PSTV so I could just play those games there if I ever got rid of my Vita.

As much as its pains me to say, the most you gonna get from a Vita is to use it to emulate PSP and other handhelds or play PS3 and early PS4-era games on the go.

Don't get me wrong, there is cool games on the Vita but nothing thats really stands out.

Gravity Rush
Dragon’s Crown
Ninja Gaiden 1/2
Freedom Wars
Like 20 different Dynasty/Samurai warriors games
And of course Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 the last video game that had soul...

Anything fps. Action. But not vn
Killzone Mercenary would have been great if it released on the PS3 and yet it's a Vita game. Tons of replayability and if you find a way to access botzone you can have some fun shooting bots in the multiplayer mode (online servers are sadly gone now). There aren't many other options aside from Mercenary though. Resistance Burning Skies is a decent game, but lacks in replayability. Worth an afternoon or two if you just wanna shoot some aliens though. CoD Declassified isn't unplayable and if you liked Spec-Ops mode in Modern Warfare 2 there is some fun to be had, but it's fairly underwhelming. Only one of the 3 FPS games that is still easily playable online tho and you can still find some lobbies!

For action games, if you want monster hunters you have Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars and Toukiden. If you want more of a story/atmosphere focus go Soul Sacrifice, if you want more of that core Monster Hunter style of gameplay go Toukiden and if you want something fairly fresh that's mixed with third person shooting go for Freedom Wars. Can't go wrong with any of them.

If you haven't played them before, the Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus are some of the greatest action games ever made. Even though Sigma 2 isn't considered the best version, it is still a highly unique and incredible experience everyone owes it to themselves to play. Until Master Collection on Switch, the Vita ports were the only way to experience them on the go! Truly, as far as action games on a dedicated handheld go it rarely got as good as Ninja-fucking-Gaiden! Might wanna overclock your Vita for Sigma 2 though, it has one of the biggest glow-ups when ya do as it fixes a lot of the dynamic resolution and framerate issues. Sigma 1 is just great though, nothin needed for that one.

Please, then let's not forget this hidden gem: I completed it with 5 stars in all missions, LOVED it same way I loved "Killzone Mercenary"; I'm not so much into Borderlands because of the masked enemies, I found them a bit disturbing (even though I tried it and the gameplay is cool, but with the update or else on Vita is really bad).

Yea, if you think games with great graphics with little substance are good.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Persona 4: Golden
Wipeout 2048
God of War Collection
MGS HD Collection

Hot take: but i think the vita is better than the 3ds.

Love the Vita. Best active community of ports and originals homebrews.
Action:
Salt and sanctuary
Soul Sacrifice
Toukiden
Risk of Rain
Only on vita: Gravity rush (well, no only, but great in vita)
God Eater
Freedom Wars
Muramasa

Anything fps:
(this are Homebrews: more like 3ps, but gold...)
Purified
Abyss

Others I like
Sine mora
Nidhogg
Cuphead (port)
Unsighted (port)
The hallway (HB)
MK9

Yea homebrew ports that don't run that well.

Yeah, some trash, Hollow knight is terrible, and I have some issues with Dead Space, but some hb and ports are cool: Abyss and Purified are really good hb, and the ports of Cuphead and Unsighted runs very well.

Yeah there a lot of good vita games such as soul sacrifice delta, Muramasa Rebirth, Killzone Mercenary, God Eater 2 Rage Burst and God Eater Resurrection, Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus and Estival Versus, and Tales of Hearts R
