imo, Ed Edd n Eddy is like the beavis and butthead of older gen zers

Ed, Edd, n Eddy was probably one of the more popular shows when I was a kid, but I'm on the younger side of being a millennial rather than an older gen z.

Yeah, I get that. but it had tons of re-runs when I was growing up (I'm 19), alongside fosters home for imaginary friends.

back in my day, ren and stimpy was the beavis and butthead for my young age group (i lived through the premiere of spongebob, jimmy neutron and fairly oddparents)

but i'm not gonna lie, me and my brother had this weird fascination and longing for jawbreakers in real life cos of ed edd and eddy, thinking they were that worth dying for (had my first one long ago as a kid, my brother brought home one from his school fair, and it.....was just a big, round, hard, sweet ball of sugar with funky colours)

Ed, Edd n Eddy was my favorite childhood cartoon on Cartoon Network.

I'm surprised that Ed Edd n Eddy got to last as long as it did. Never tried out the video games tho, except Mis-Edventures.

I still yell stuff like "Mucky Boys! That's funny, huh?", "SPONGE STAMPEDE!" and "I think it's time for a little order" (among other things) when playing with my kids.

I do believe it was a little meanspirited, though.

I am seeing a distinct lack of @Lee__Kanker on this thread, and it feels like a travesty.

But yeah, EEnE was fun. I loved a lot of Cartoon Network and, compared to Nick and Didney these days, maybe that's for the best. Much as I wasn't one of the neighborhood rowdies like the Ed-boys, there was something very down-to-earth about the shenanigans they got into. Growing up in the suburbs in a lower-middle-class household (in some ways a step above white trash), the show felt like this amazing summer vacation. The cartoony aspects aside, the characters felt like someone we all knew.

I don't mean to sound offensive, but... I like Ed. I was more of a Double D kid growing up, but Ed's cool for adult me. There was this classic meme about Jimmy being "the first gay kid you ever knew" (the meme's words, not mine), but Ed was definitely the first autistic kid one would ever know by meme logic. He's just this genuinely good-natured, sweet-hearted geek too. And I don't know if it was intentional, but the episode where he's overwhelmingly angry at everything due to a pebble in his shoe? If that wasn't meant to be an allegory to autistic meltdowns... well, it sure felt relatable to me.

...well, that's enough vulnerability for one day.

I should rewatch EEnE anyway. Some of my favorite episodes include the big inner-tube river cruise thing, and when they made a city solely out of cardboard boxes. Rolf's great and if not for Nazz, I wouldn't have known what to name one of my favorite D&D characters (a gnoll bard metalhead named Nazreen) because she's also great. I feel like the Kankers would've aged better with me from afar, but it was cool to have them as the Eds' rivals... and also that they all had crushes on the boys, one for each Ed, on top of that.

And the movie finale...! One of the best finales of cartoons, if you ask me.

Watched it whenever I caught it at my grandpa's. Even though I never liked meanspirited characters there was oddly a charm to this show. Like, while not outright evil Eddy was despicable enough with his money schemes that you never felt bad for him. Double D was the lovable nerd who was the only ounce of sense the trio collectively had and just always found himself dragged along. And Ed was just the idiot xD

So yeah, a funny/genious show where the main trio was just stupid enough in their misadventures that you didn't mind seeing them get in hot water xD

(The Danish voices were great!)
