Havent really touched my MiSTer lately. What are some good JRPG’s I may have missed?

I've pretty much played all the big ones that people recommend. I'm definitely looking for something a little more niche. I'd take an SRPG too. To give an idea of what I like, i really like Dragon Quest (Particularly VII). Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, grandia etc. I've played pretty much all the square and enix hits and some of the lesser known stuff like Terranigma. I'm also a sucker for cards if that helps. I really like the older yugioh games and pokemon tcg on the gameboy.

Just trying to get something decent recommended. I'm sure there's tons but it's getting harder and harder to get myself to play a 50 hour+ game just based off a wikipedia entry and a longplay video.

Yggdra Union is an SRPG that has cards. It is, of course, a great game.
Have you played any JRPGs for the Genesis/Saturn? the Phantasy Star and Shining series (both Genesis, Shining has a couple entries on Saturn) are pretty damn good, as is Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Saturn.

Yggdra union has been on my list for a little while i should give it a shot. I have the remastered version wishlisted on steam.

I've played Panzer Dragoon saga but i never finished. I thought it was pretty decent. I've played Shining the Holy Ark but i havent played any beyond that or any of the phantasy star games minus PSO. Those are some pretty solid recommendations i know id like phantasy star

this year i finished Breath of Fire 2 and 3 both very good games and similar to a Dragon Quest can offer. also finished Metal Max 3 and 2 for NDS, which were also great and refreshing, far from the usual medieval aesthetic. months ago i started Oriental Blue I haven't been able to finish it yet, but i think it's perfect if you're looking for a complete classic JRPG

There's an early bizarre fusion of cards and RPG called Lost Kingdoms (and it's sequel, Lost Kingdoms II) on the Gamecube, might be up your alley.

....although I missed the part about Mister's when I read the post, so maybe that isn't helpful!

i really like bof. I've only played 3 and 5 but i thought 5 on the ps2 was so good. I might check out the ones i skipped. Metal max and oriental blue seem like a good time too i might break out my dsi xl for those.

I've seen a video essay on lost kingdoms a while ago and completely forgot about it. This definitely seems like a game id like. Thanks for reminding me

The Etrian Odyssey series is pretty good if you are in the mood for some dungeon crawling. There is the tales of series too, which had some great entries like Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Abyss that you can't go wrong with.

Mentioned it on another thread but MS Saga is a pretty fun game if by the numbers JRPG as far as plot goes. But it has a unique gear and equipment progression and is decently challenging if you want something Fresher and less well known.

Something I had as a kid that was a neat little game was Dragon Warrior: Monsters. It's a Game Boy game. It's somewhat a Pokemon clone but one thing I liked about it was that you could breed the monsters and it would create a new species that took from the two monsters you paired together.

Many JRPGs I have played and liked, and as a good recommendation of a great JRPG, I recommend Wild Arms 5(The Vth Vanguard on the original japanese version).

First, this game continues with the sometimes confusing turn based system of HEX-floors from the 4th game, but I understand the few optimizations Media Vison done in the episode. Dominating the HEX-floors will grant for the players several advantages against bosses, the various superbosses(in the same way who exists in WA2/2nd Ignition) and strong wild monsters, but only depends of higher levels of your characters, since the difficulty of WA5 it's little bit more harder than the previous installment.

And second, this game have various extras such as secret dungeons, secret weapons, and another costumes for the 6 playable characters. In this last, this game is the few ones of PS2 who authorizes the playable characters change their costumes, granting bonuses in status or not.

Wild Arms 5 is one of the JRPG masterpieces of PS2!

I just have to recommend Ogre Battle 64; person of lordly caliber. That or Arcana on Snes.
Arcana it's one of small amount of JRPG games made by the legendary HAL Laboratory, who made the Kirby metaseries.

I recently finished the first scenario of Linda Cube, do not sleep on this one. It doesn't take a long time, and it's such an out there kind of game, if you dig dragon quest, then there's a good chance it's right up your alley.
