Continuity isn't really a thing for Fate since everything is kinda canon, but I felt like mapping out my own view of a theoretical /Stay Night canon since some of my friends wanted to know how I thought best to get into the series(a few of them play FGO). All of this is vibes based.
Is a under the assumption that you don't want to play the VNs and just want to watch. Ideally you would at least play the Saber Route of /Stay Night
before watching UBW or Zero. I put UBW before Zero here but it's really up to preference, If you plan on watching more than one maybe start with Zero. Alternatively you could watch the 2006 anime but its pretty rank.
Is really just the OG VN and Hollow Ataraxia which currently doesn't have an anime adaptation but is the most direct sequel to /Stay Night, if you go down this path you pretty much can watch whatever, technically you don't even have to play Hollow Ataraxia but y'know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is Just whatever I thought tied into the world of /Stay Night well enough, i.e stuff that feels like it could happen within a theoretical /Stay Night continuity. /Type Redline is kinda the exception but I just think its neat. Other Fate Series/Type Moon works in general are also worth checking out since they do build out some of the wider world building. Rule of thumb, if you think it looks neat give it a try.
