Is the singer trying to say that becouse guts had no glasses, that everything was wrong as a result?

You sir a a person of culture. I loved this intro, but had nothing, and i mean nothing to do with the plot.

I would argue the end theme was more appropriate.

Edit: Right just saw a retrospective on this anime, like 10minutes of one, with a guy explaining that it is a horror anime, so i kind of get it now, but the moi scenes man... Not a fan!

Holy crap, what the heck is this opening, the music have nothing to do with Berserk vibes! I know anime openings and endings are advertisements for musics labels and their bands, but they are careful and choose songs that fit with the anime .... not in this case, though.

And this is 1997, so i am guessing it was an experiment of sorts? I will say this though, the rest of the sound track by Susumu Hirasawa (melodical music) fit the tone well, and was carried over to many of the games and the 2013 remake.

It's not a bad OP by any means and I like the song. The song also just happens to be totally contextually inappropriate. It's a song about lost love that's kind of bright and cheery. I dig it.

That wouldn't make a lot of sense for this show already, but there's a line about the singer's memories being beautiful. A large part of Kenshin's 'thing' is that he's trying to atone for his past as a killer during the revolution. And when the line about memories is sung, the OP shows footage of him slaying some dudes. So yeah, just a little bit bizarre.

this was airing during a hard time in our family's life, what with my grandmother being in the hospital and her passing literally happened within the time frame of this show's airing, and i was literally on the episode where Yuuri was pretending to be a god and it was full of raindrops everywhere

i left the showed unfinished and untouched for a long while until i finally got the courage to push through with the show

now if only japan gets the courage to put out a s2 instead of pumping out more isekai shit with 0 budget

One Outs - great opening, but the song content really doesn't fit either the story or the protagonist's strength of character / he's not really emotional at all. But great op anyway.

Golden boy. You'd never guess from the opening that it's a comedy about a drifter who's both a genius and a sex maniac (with morals). It looks more like a serious sports(cycling) anime...

Great op. The song reminded me of berserk lol and didn't really know what to expect either from the op..... But just listened to it again, I didn't realise how well thought out the intro was until I saw this comment, wanted to share:
