I'd say Ergo Proxy. It may be cheating tho. There wasnt exactly an intro and that's one of the greatest songs of all time...

Yeh, for me I would say Ergo Proxy is one of greatest intros. I still remember it.

To me Samurai Champloo's opening is iconic and great, as is the soundtrack by all the hip hop artists involved but to compare the OP to ED, I would say the ED is better. I do not stay around and listen to most anime ED's but Samurai Champloo has what it's got.

Record of lodoss war ova's ending theme kaze no fantasia/fantasia of the wind, whether japanese or english version, the intro is good, but nothing compared to the ending.

Record of lodoss war is a great choice because both the OP and ED are so good. But I have to disagree and give it the the opening on that one

the lyrics Io sono Prigioniera makes me every time, the song just builds in such a beautiful way.
