Definitive Edition: -Option to select Easy or Hard mode (Japanese or US enemy stats). -Debug Mode (mostly for experiencing cut content & cheats if you want to use them). -Skip the intro added to the US version (You can play it any time from the boot menu but most fans seem to agree you are better off without it. If you disagree you can still play it though). -Easier US difficulty of Elene's dream puzzle was kept over the original Japanese difficulty. -Legendary Sword no longer requires 20 game overs to obtain. -Several minor graphical issues were fixed. -Missable chest was made able to be reached after completing the area. -Riverside Bar Mini-games only need to be completed once and their rewards were distributed to Wendell's Dream and the Fairy Pond. -Original Japanese ending song has been restored. So the Definitive Edition has everything in the UnWorked version except making Elene's Dream Puzzle harder and it has a bunch of other fixes & restorations from the Japanese version. The gameplay is mostly vanilla but with (imo) some tedious content removed like losing the game 20 times/doing the bar minigames repeatedly. And I like making it so you can go back and get the missable chest after you complete the area. I'd say the Definitive Edition is hands down better unless you are absolutely dead set on experiencing the harder Elene's dream puzzle and outside of the additional bug fixes in this version the minor changes made to the game are all extremely welcome.
