AI really gets on my nerves

Who needs conversational AI when you can dump your unhinged questions into the middle of an ongoing discussion in the general chat of a crowded discord server?

I dont get bothered cause it doenst matter, Ive seen crappy looking stuff, will continue. Not all of its bad, a lot of it is just lazily used.

If youre upset about the AI you notice, hooboy, youre gonna have bad day when you realize how much AI stuff you dont realize is around you that you dont notice.

yeah, AI threads spark off rather quickly here on the site. if you haven't seen it, check out the thread about some AI videos remaking ff8 and ff9.
a lot of people got mad at how freya looked in the ff9 one.

Yes, I commented on this thread yesterday. I have to say these two games look like they have had their soul sucked out, no idea what to think about it but I read that many people here didn't like it. I can understand that, I also have mixed feelings about it

yeah, it's like a strange mix of final fantasy and pixar/dreamworks.
i did find it kind of funny about how many people were not only complaining about freya looking somewhat human, but also being a little bit well endowed. i was deviantart and i looked to see what art people have drawn of her. they either match the series art style, or they draw her as a hot busty mouse babe.
i don't think a lot of people on here check out art websites much. there was also a lot of AI art of her too.

I think it's a matter of taste. OK, I'm not that enthusiastic about it, but there are some who like it. But what I also wonder is let's say if these two Final Fantasy's were to be remade in this AI version. I think I would play it, probably out of curiosity.

yeah, it's not bad looking. i think it's more of it looking more generic is the main problem. my first thought that it was some pixar themed AI video. there's so much stuff coming out that all looks the same. no variation, no different styles, just the same looking character models and colors.

And that's the problem with these AI remakes they all look kind of the same or copy each other.

that's what AI art does mainly. it just copies and mixes stuff that already exists. some websites have an option to delist stuff from AI data collection programs like deviantart. you have to check the box, it's unchecked by default.
at some point, since the amount of data it can eventually find is limited; it will eventually loop in on itself and start creating errors and feedback issues and then it will collapse in on itself; making it necessary to reset it. and then who ever is manning or overseeing the AI will have to make the choice to either stop, or try again.

I don't get why people have such a big problem with AI, other than it being a misnomer. It's a tool like any other. It's in the growing pains stage so some kinks need to be worked out. It may or may not change the world as we know it and if it does then we'll simply have to adapt like we have adapted to so many other things that came before.

I still remember when Photoshop became a mainstream thing and people were freaking out about never being able to trust pictures again. People have come up with some pretty cool uses for ai. A friend of mine recently had an ai generate some stls to print out some toy cars for his kid and he said they came out better than most of the toy cars you can buy at the store.
