Does anyone have experience in taking your Nintendo or old consoles to other countries? I brought my NES from the US to Peru and the adapter stopped working because there is twice the amount of voltage here. I’m hoping to find a 220V adapter in the country and hopefully it will work again. ??

I haven't taken my NES anywhere, but I did have some AC adapter-related hiccups because the seller refused to include it with the purchase (why? Because this was 2007, and everyone thought they were dealing in gold) and I had to make-do with some unsuitable replacements. Hope your console is OK, as the NES is a bit of a picky beast when it comes to its power supply.

Make sure the next AC-DC Adaptor has an input of not only 110v but 240 volts too.
Most likely your old one is completely burned.
Yeah, I may have to try a universal one with the right voltage, even if its not Nintendo, depending on what I'm able to find. I just hope it's just the adapter that is burned and that nothing happened to the console itself.

If you apply a higher voltage to a low voltage device, you may fry the power supply. Lower voltage to a high voltage device shouldn't be a problem, but it won't be able to turn on.

Update: success!!! I found an adapter that works. ????????
