Actually good Android games?

Best to stay with older ones like hill climber 1 and 2, bad piggies, burito bison, phoenix wright trilogy dont know if you were asking for online or offline but these are what i played. (Brawl stars also pretty good).::winnie

Usually I prefer offline games because they don't waste my internet, but I don't mind trying online ones either. Also thanks everyone for the recommendations, lots of interesting stuff as I knew almost absolutely nothing about android games. Even though sadly my phone doesn't let me install a lot of the older apks.

Itch.io has a TON of .apk files. Lots of android games there. Try Mushroom Musume (full game coming out on Steam soon! But the “demo” is really fleshed out), Handshakes (fun sokoban), Kitty Toy (virtual pets), “It Gets so Lonely Here” and “End of an Obsession” (gorgeous lesbian VNs, pt. 1 and 2). Also, Stardew Valley is on play store for $5!!

OpenTyrian and Osu have Android ports and they're great games! Square Enix also has tons of ports of their older catalogue which might be worth looking at if you don't want to emulate.

Okay, I've been holding out on this one.
Years back, I played a game called Epic Conquest. I went into it expecting it to be like any other phone game, figured I'd get bored and uninstall it in a few hours and never want to play it again.

What I got was a fun, interesting beat-em-up style game where the main girl shoots fire at things, the gameplay doesn't get boring, though it may get a little frustrating trying to clear some of those harder challenges, and for the most part, from what I can tell there aren't any necessary skills or items locked behind a paywall. The stuff you  can pay for appears to be mainly cosmetic, and you can unlock a lot (if not all) of it without paying money, too!

10/10, would install again

Oh, and there's a sequel and that looks good, too.

OH there’s also a Flappy Bird GBA port that would be fun on android emulator. Only one button to press, it’s pretty much a standard mobile game again at that point LOL

Honestly having smartphone and not playing some Gacha are kinda a waste.
There's Brown Dust 2 that feels like a normal adventure turnbased rpg and I dont ends up playing it cause I feel like I need to actually take my times with it.
Gacha like Blue Archive and Bleach Brave Souls are the easiest one in term of reaching the "quick daily login" status.
FGO can be a real time sinker and when you reach lostbelt, it became like a try hard normal single player games, I HATE every boss fight on there and it keeps getting worse lmao.
Grandblue is web based so you don't need to install anything and it pretty chill though having a "proper" grids will take years lol

Does Balatro count? It's just as good as the PC version, tho I feel like it's even better cuz of the touch controls LOL

Mindustry is great, you have to manage a factory and fight enemies in a tower defense style

Tower Fortress! It's like, a platformer and you climb this tower, fighting green monsters and getting upgrades at the end of each floor, it's really challenging but super fun.

You progress unlocking new costumes with different effects and every attempt you push a little further in the new areas, it's kinda like a roguelike I think.

Also it's made by Nitrome, they make a lot of sick mobile games, I don't know if it's still up on the Play Store but I grabbed an APK from the internet, it's tons of fun.

The android port of Slay The Spire is a really good option if you like rogue-likes or card games.
No microtransactions, no ads only you and a bunch of cards and relics!

It really isn't. That's because you understand Android games as something you can do quickly while going school / work or at lunchtime, but playing videogames isn't like that. It's a process of turning on the game, getting ready from the last time you played and focus on what you're doing without interruptions until you stop playing.

For me, wasting time is doing exactly what you describe, quickly daily logins. Some tasks that are the same over and over then stop playing until next day, to do the same, like a robot. Because you miss a day or an event then you're screwed, like you had to be on there all the time available for them. Playing a game shouldn't be a daily task you have to do, that's for your private stuff like cleaning, laundry or washing the dishes. Playing is playing, it's not working.

Night of the full moon, now is a no because they pass from selling the class and game improvement for money to "candies" like a gacha game.

The ports from good games like slay the spire.
Kemco if you want play rpgmaker like games.
The monster hunter stories port for Android is good and is on the playpass.
Those are the ones I remember, I haven't opened the Play Store in years so I don't know if there are new games worth to play.

There was a REALLY good hack & slash game a few years back on google play store when i had it installed. Really big, decent maps, good sword/armour pickups with the question of which will work better with which? I can't remember the name. I finished it but they were still updating, think it was the thundra that they updated with big mammoths & ice beasts, HUGE map. When you finished the game too, you continue the loop from the start with all your gear but the enemies are stronger. I don't use the play store anymore because of the permissions they seek but if you don't mind that then it may still be out there whatever it is called, lol.

I'd say, play Progressbar 95 with the wifi turned off. It's like a bullet hell with Windows and MacOS theme.
It has some special modes that appear once in a while and add a change of pace after the first half or so but it gets updates pretty often which deliver some other distractions.
It helped me a bit back in 2021 and I still download it again to play for a while, but not that much.
