I've only beaten Ace Combat 3, but I'm currently playing Ace Combat 7 and it's really awesome.

One thing I really like aside from the gameplay is the lore. Since there's so many games in this series I've been watching lore dumps on Youtube. Other jet fighting games boil down to "planes cool, America #1, yee haw" but Ace Combat is anime af. "Meteor impact was devastating, now entering the Electrosphere, FIRE THE LASER CANON"

Anyone a fan of this series?

I am a BIG fan of Ace Combat, I've played every single game in the series multiple times, love'em.

Once you're done with AC 7 try playing Ace Combat 5, Ace Combat ZERO and Project wingman, you will love them too.

I brought the extra expensive collectors edition of Ace Combat 7 solely for the Aces at War book:
1

Spoilers. It was worth it.

Before then I played Ace Combat Infinity on the PS3 consistently for like three years.
It was absolutely jank, presenting itself as if it took place in our reality- but every piece of story you unlocked just recapped Strangereal. But all could be forgiven:

It was a real "You had to be there" experience. It's a damn shame it was one of the rare PS3 exclusives that died with the consoles online support.

It's my favourite gaming franchise, nothing comes close in terms of consistent world building, gameplay & of course the extraordinarily good music.

It should go without saying but why not reenforce the obvious:
The PS2 Trilogy are certified classics.
If you can play electrosphere with the fan patch that re-introduces the cut side missions you should. Please don't skip on six simply because it's on the 360. It's phenomenal.
And Sky Crawlers Innocent Aces for the Wii is a honorary Ace Combat game.
Yes it was a licensed Anime game, but it has the ENTIRE PROJECT ACES DEV TEAM BEHIND IT.

Not only will you know when its time.
You'll never forget your first playthrough.

based Ace of Aces enjoyer

Loved it on the PlayStation because it allowed me to wreck face with an A4 Skyhawk, my favorite plane ever.

Ace Combat saga is awesome.

The only bad Ace Combat is the Assault Horizon.

My favorites: Ace Combat Zero, 5, X and 7

Just like with Armored Core, I do plan on playing all of these games at some point, but as of right now my only option is to play Ace Combat 7. I hate not being able to play them in order, but... still, I'm having a blast.

tbh i would never watch a youtube video on a series i have no exact knowledge of it. I understand from where you are coming from. You would think Bamco would port the old games by now. ::sonic-waiting

One thing that's pissing me off is the first boss fight!! It keeps blowing me up, then when I'm close to winning, it activates a giant force field! UGH

Edit- *facepalm* It's an unwinnable fight, you destroy it later. DAMN! I RESTARTED THE MISSION 6 TIMES ALREADY!!!
