No worries. So do they say something downright stupid like saying you sound like a "New York-er"?
@Retro Doomer : There is something that I've been meaning to ask somebody who natively speaks 'High German.' I've read that 'Yiddish' is just 'High German' written with 'Hebrew' letters. So does 'Yiddish' just sound like odd dialect of 'High German?'
The analogy that I've constructed in my head is that: 'Hebrew' is to 'Yiddish' as 'Greek' is to 'Coptic.' Since the only thing "Greek" about 'Coptic' is the written part of the language. But even then, there is still a few inherited 'Demonic' letters for sounds that otherwise don't exist in 'Greek.' Does the same idea apply to 'Yiddish'?
