I don't know if there already is a thread on this topic, but I searched for one and I didn't find anything.
So, have some of you already heard about Replay OS?
To sum up, it's a retro gaming Raspberry Pi (Zero/3/4/5) image focused on low latency and CRT support.
What I most liked about this OS is just how simple and direct it is. The interface is crude, but this is exactly what I want in a multi system emulation machine. No boxarts, no fancy interfaces, no slow transitions, etc, just pure functionality.
I know it's possible to simplify the RetroArch interface the same way, but it's not like that out of the box.
I think the only thing ReplayOS is missing right now is Retroachievements hardcore mode and a high resolution option for 5th generation systems. But again, on a CRT they look flawless.
The low latency feature that the OS is aiming for seems legit. At least the input response feels good. I don't have a MISTer FPGA, so I can't personally attest to just how close it is, but some YouTubers (ReplayOSvsMister) made comparisons and they got good results.
