About pc gaming and upgrading your GPU, is it a good time?

Good luck with that. In my observations, prices always go up, and not down. And it was the same for the last generation of humanity, as well.

When I was a boy, the middle-aged men of the family would complain about how prices had doubled or tripled since they were kids. Now, I'm middle-aged, and prices have again doubled/tripled. I feel certain that in another half century, prices will have yet again doubled and tripled.

I'm not convinced...

Some things yes definitely have gone up, but prices are set at what people are willing to pay. I have seen meat go up past $8/lb, and then drop back to $3/lb. Eggs used to be $1.70/dozen, and while they are $5+ they will drop back down to under $3 once they have more egg producing chickens again.

Paperback books when i was a kid was $15 in the book stores, and yet now i see $5 books in dollar general.

If you aren't willing to pay higher prices, the prices will come down. But if there's more than sufficient product being sold they will go with whatever balance they think makes them the most money. If they can't sell their express cards they will make budge cards that are good enough or a balance based on price vs value. And no doubt i'll probably keep getting refurbished cards.

No, prices are set at what businesses think they can get away with. And with consolidation and market capture (and paid politics), they can get away with an awful lot. I'm really jaded about the subject, so I don't think this conversation will be productive.

While this is true too, if you do something stupid or go too far... They'll find they've upset customers who'll refuse to come back (or are simply out of their budget). Disney with their theme parks and media have problems, a lot are boycotting budlight.

There's a lot the customers are willing to bend to, be it nostalgia or enjoying the product or it's cheap. But when it's too far, well... Ultimately the customer gets to choose. Once a habit is broken, breaking three or four more is easy. And the customer base is like an avalanche.
