Probably might cost a dollar so forgive me if the idea is ludicrous, but it would be nice to know just how many letters have been typed. I know that there is a limit of 1000 but to be informed of how much has been typed would be a really nice change.

The word count on profile post comments are seemingly bugged, we tested it a while back and it doesn’t seem tell you about stuff like auto macros for links and @s and whatnot adding lots of ”invisible” letters.

It’s super frustrating, I agree.

Actually this has been requested, and even implemented in the past:

However, it wasn't accurate, since the messages are stored as BBCode, not just text... so the real size of the message wasn't correctly reported by it.

Other than that, the add-on caused a bug in articles section too.
Spike decided to disable it completely.

Honestly i'm also looking forward for this feature to return.

What is this about? I don't really understand the question.
He wants a character counter so that it's easy to tell when you're approaching the character limit on a post or profile message. I made that suggestion before and JL123 already explained how it went.

I’d also add it created some UI visibility on top of the aforementioned character inaccuracies. I’d suggest typing things out in a doc but that can be definitely a bit of a pain too.

I never encountered the limit. I either don't have much to say or I am efficient at saying what I need to say.
It only applies to profile posts, threads don't seem to have a limit.

Also ya the count seems to be bugged. Was trying to copy one of my PC Engine posts into the status update and it told me it was over the limit. I then typed it out manually and it was fine, despite being exactly the same length.

Threads do have a limit. Like @Cardboardtubeknight said in TC, there is a 10k limit.

The only time I encountered it (also when I found out about it :loldog ) was for my guild application. I shouldn't have chosen a game I had so much to say about for a first review >_<

The pfp limit is not a big deal imo since they don't merge, so you can multi post which I have done a few times when needed. Annoying, but never bothered me too much, maybe just me?

oh ok, 10k is more than enough for threads. I think the current limits we have are good (though you have a point, it should probably be lifted just for guild applications). It would just be nice if there was an on screen counter somewhere.
