A lonely traveller fell out of the woodwork in search of food, hugs, and fashion that doesn't suck, yep.

A PC that can run anything but the least angry of the PS2 games is something I still don’t have – but I am actually fairly heartened and somewhat interested in having seen many people on this forum swing by the more “cutting edge” linux distros and seemingly having very few problems running their computers and playing their games on presumably fairly new-ish hardware. I don’t actually use Windows these days – the game I’m translating is done in Wolf (Woah, RETRO) and that has always more or less run perfectly out of the box since Ye Olde Days, according to sister. I should probably upgrade my computer but every time I buy something semi-new, it dies incredibly fast, despite knowing what I’m doing to some degree...I might be cursed.

(idle curiosity, what were the PS2 games you had?)

It’s not that I strictly mind mobile games per se, but I also sort of feel like most of them are set up in a way that’s meant to capture your attention for as long as possible – making you feel like you’ll miss out if you aren’t always there, you know? I suppose MMOs might not be that different. Obviously there are loads of fairly nice, non-high maintenance mobile games and stuff out there, right? So I guess it kinda balances out..sorta...(still, ads, ads everywhere.)

In connection with flash games, there was a game called Enchanted Cave that was a flash game and then the guy ported it to a mobile version – it was a nice roguelike, something I felt like even newcomers to the genre could get into.

I still have a few relics from my sister’s flash-stuff collection, and her partner had painted a load of Walfas Touhous – made them in Create.swf and then painted them. Simpler times, perhaps. Hah. Maybe that’s a too into-Touhou topic that a lot of forum-goers wouldn't know about.

To be direct, I haven’t lost my legs, but to quote a protagonist of an obscure game “This new mechanical body obeys my orders much better than the old one did.” – I lose control of ‘em sometimes. I’d be completely honked if I needed prosthetics, yikes. Because of the intersectionality of this particular family, we’ve sort of met people from all situations and all walks of life, and we have this weird grasp and understanding of lots of peoples’ living situations and yeah, it’s...not good. Obviously, there are problems and hurdles and all sorts of crap to be overcome from all sides – I’m not going to get into a political debate or anything, but I do wish that people could have the bare minimum to become the best person they can be, that’s about what I’ve got on that.

I fear that this might have gone well past the scope of an introduction, and so like, I should probably declare “I’m hecka sorry for this.” BUT I’VE ALREADY PENNED A PIECE FOR THE WRITER’S GUILD BUT I HAVEN’T HIT 25 POSTS YET, SO WHAT EVER IS A PERSON TO DO?

In any case, the welcome already received has been much nicer than I expected, and probably nicer than what I’m used to receiving, and I’m bawling a little just sitting here, so I guess I kinda wanna stress that. Especially at this particular time of year.

I have same stuff the headphones im using for phone, i had so many over the years, both wired and wirelsee ones, and they die FAST. The last pair i had lasted like 7 months, think. Tech in general these days dies fast sadly(((

Still have them btw, as well as my ps2. I just fucked it up a little when cleaning and it's not working now ::sadkirby. Gotta get it fixed one day i hope.
The games i had are:
- Ratchet & Clank 3
- Ptifall: The Lost Expidition
- Shrek 2
- SpyHunter 2
- Motor Mayhem
- WRC II Extreme
- Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
- Casper Spirit Dimensions
- Max Payne 2
- Bionicle heroes
- Primal
- Sonic Unleashed

Most games were bought by my parents way before i could play PS2 myself. The only ones that were bought for me (cuz i asked) were Bionicle one (i loved them as a kid), Sonic game and Jak and Daxter one.

I also sort of feel like most of them are set up in a way that’s meant to capture your attention for as long as possible – making you feel like you’ll miss out if you aren’t always there, you know?
Well, that's the whole point actually. They use fomo (fear of missing out) as if like, if you miss this out you aint getting this back! I like how Arrowhead treats fomo, instead of having limiterd items for sale, the whole game campain is fomo. The malevelon creek, the defence of super earth. All of that was limited in a sense that people who already had the game, just had to be online for these events. And thoose who was there, got a cool cape. Like the whole thing isnt missing out "premium" items that cost real money, but in game events like this. It kinda sucks that you miss them, but hey, you can always hop on the game and play it no problem. Even battle passes there dont go away, they stay in game so you can complete them later with the money you can get from simply playing the game.

I remember there was one game, can't remember the name, but the whole premise was that you were a treasure hunter, and so you go down into a dungeon beneath a pyramid. Game was isometric and used pixel art for graphics and it also was a rouge like. Kinda liked it.

Damn, that's cool that your sister was making stuff too. Not into Touhou that much though, but still got characters i like from touhou.

I had a friend that had this type stuff too. But he had it becuase he had multiple sclerosis. Basically a disease which attacks the whole nerve system and it can lead to various outcomes. in his case it would be difficult to walk or sit for him for long periods of time. He would also have other health problems too. Sadly he passed away this year, i didn't knew he him that long, but he was a nice guy.

Honestly yeah, not everywhere poeple have opportunities or resources to actually BE living this life and becoming a bettor person in general. It is very sad that there are still people who live in countries that are way behind technological progress, and have people doing dirty and hazardous for health jobs just for like, 2 dollars or something.

Nah, its fine. We are just getting to know eachother here so its all cool. You can always dm a person (or in your case you can ask them to DM you, cuz ur level 0). There are other boards you can access while being level 0 tho.

As for the warm welcome, i guess it's because the community is rather small, cuz forums aren't that popular today (at least i think so), and smaller communities can be kinda nice. So yeah, you can just have fun here talking with people about stuff. I myself is rather new to the forums, but everybody seems nice so far. Anyway, as i sad in a previous post, glad to have you aborad here!
