So, uh, hi. what a person is supposed to put in something like this, is something I have no idea about, but, here goes.

I’ve sorta been a fan of retro games for a very long time, probably thanks to my jerk of a sister and my father. My father got my sister into gaming, and then when I fell into the world, she sorta dragged me into it. Normal story about not having money for newer generation consoles, so we stuck with the old stuff for a long time.

By the time I fell out, my parents had more or less stopped gaming. According to sister, my mother stopped at around the time she got punched out by Nemesis in RE3, in a scenario my sister was certain shouldn’t be possible, and none of us ever made it happen ourselves, but she watched it happen. (In the room where you meet Marvin in RE2 for the first time, the Nemesis chased her in there in the post-window-break/after lockpick part).

I did play some stuff on the PS3 and did some mobile games and stuff, but I got especially sick of bein’ barraged with ads and stuff on mobile games and the like, and let’s not even think about talkin’ about MTX and stuff…I don’t have any new-generation consoles because I wear a tin-foil hat and stuff...although epilepsy is also a pretty big factor, too. So retro and no MTX is cozy. People who still like these things are cozy. Mostly.

Um, anyway, that jerk of a sister of mine and her partner sorta passed away a bit ago, (woohoo spoilers) which is half the reason I caved and fell in here. Now I’m sorta scrambling to finish the translation project they left half-done with my partner.
My own partner isn’t really in the house ‘caussa work, and I’m crippled myself, so they sorta recommended I come here to quote “headbutt this community of weirdos. Maybe you won’t click with anyone, but trying that is better than sitting around possibly going slightly stir-crazy, especially during this time of year.. Be careful, okay?” they said, yep.

Um, for tastes, I like horror a little, RPGs a lot, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, some of the Final Fantasies. Liked FF10 a lot 'cause of something I read somewhere about how it related to Japanese society as a whole...
(should I duck?)
this name actually comes from the fact that I was ever so slightly drunk one night with some friends a long time ago. We started Chrono Cross and I just could not say “Cerulean skies” in the opening text for the life of me, so, there’s that. It sorta stuck.

(Name’s Jill, for the record. ジルー>Jiru→Jill.

A big fan of Touhou fangames, but not the mainline entries…
I liked both PE1 and PE2.

Um, thank you for coming to my Ph.D. rambling dissertation, I super appreciate it. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Yule, Winter Solstice, probably lots of other stuff. Looking forward to biting your ankles in the future, yep.

Welcome to the RGT forum.

Welcome!
And I swear I read all of that!
A lot of high speed experience, mostly having been delivered by attempting to catch the train to work before my particular condition decided to gnaw off my legs (half joke) and having caught said train usually by hitting my face off the door of it, has taught me that the vast majority of people do not have a desire to read past roughly the first line of a post. Perhaps if I was some sort of full screen E.A. advertisement it might help a little, but I prefer myself as I am.

My partner attached a bike horn to my wheelchair because I become invisible to people while I'm in it apparently, and even that hasn't been super effective. (Um, this isn't a pity point, just, mostly a direct observation of humans in general. Humans are whack.)

Still, if you did read, I like you, thank you.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your time here. Socializing here is a lot easier than on bigger forums imo to the point that whenever I log on I think "oh I wonder what my neighbors are up to". I too got sick of ads in mobile games and now I'm sick of them being gambling stations.

Welcome to the club, yours dreams will be curated by my trunk, worry not
I'm sorry, this sounds like something that should require an adult, and I assure you, I am no adult. (joking.). It's a litlte concerning though, what does somethin' like this entail? Can I have the truncated version? (Sorry)

I had seen the figures that Spike had mentioned some time ago, and he said that traffic was down a lot, but even at potentially a million people, isn't that kind of a "large" forum? Of course, then like 93% of all people don't post, so it's actually way quieter than maybe it should be. But I s'pose we all have this common bond of being old-console weebs and stuff, so that probably helps a lot.

I think the whole system of gacha has been exascerbated by a lot of factors -- this probably isn't the thread for that, but like, yeah. I can't imagine justifying those low rates when there are so many things in life I want to buy/do. But then again, I'm not an endorphin junky or anything so it's probably just something that's beyond me. I sprang a nosebleed when I bought the piano because my body was like "that's too much money", but partner said "do the buy, *profanity*," so, you know.
