Admittedly, I'm not really very familiar with this game since I've never got to play it, but from what I understand, the Aftermarket version is more or less the same as the Prototype that was found and dumped a few years ago, only a bit more polished, you can notice the difference right away from the disclaimer screen at the beginning. According to Google: Key Differences: Prototype ROM vs. Aftermarket Release The "aftermarket" release by Piko Interactive took the unreleased, fully developed prototype and officially manufactured it as a physical cartridge. Completion Status: The original prototype ROM was a complete, […]
We never really interacted, is not like chatgpt but is google ai, is when you search for something and it's the first thing to pop up, it seems to be correct most of the time but sometimes it's not, is best to double check.
Well, Google short answers are full of BS many times, so, probably their AI is also affected.
The silicon valley companies are doing very stupid criminal things manipulating their AIs for evil and many times political spurious interests, and nobody is watching the humans in those companies doing that, which is crazy.

Dude, thank you, I will revok the update then, I didn't see an option for multiplayer and when I checked online several sites mentioned that was planned but scrapped, eh, guess google ai was correct about this one.
Btw is it okay if I use your screenshots to add to the screenshots?
"I checked online several sites mentioned that was planned but scrapped"
That is an outdated info, and it refers to the era before the N64 version was finally found and released (Which was like 20 full years): It was "scrapped", because the N64 version was "cancelled". That's all.

I do wanna ask, is there a difference wither play as the boy or the girl? Like, is this one of those games that expect you to play both campeigns in order to get the true ending?

I'm NOT talking about the "proto PAL", you can found in this very web (which, as far as I now, was not 100% complete, unlike the NTSC proto version. But I don't now if this is really true).
There is a PAL version of the Piko release. Piko, apparently, released a PAL multilanguage cart where you can choose between: 3 languages: English, Spanish and French.

The BETA PAL version had "English, Spanish and Italian" as languages. So Italian has been replaced in the final one by French, don't know why.
In case you are still interested, I uploaded this PAL Piko version HERE in this link, (I repeat, it is NOT the proto, but a FINAL one) and will last for the next 2 days (sorry, it's the maximum time this service let me do, 48 hours). If you don't read in time this message, you can always ask me to upload it again.
If Juiceala or someone else, wants to upload it in CDromance, please, download it, and just do it. I can't.
Thank you, me personally I play in English anyway and I always prefer NTSC (even though I grew up with PAL region) that's said, having multi language is always a good thing, I downloaded it but I will need to do some testing first of course, thanks again.
I thought the same, played a bit earlier today, finished the first world boss, game is kinda fun, small nitpick is it can be tedious to check which clock pieces you are missing in a level (unless I'm missing something) but is quite fun.
I did run into an issue though, it's probably my emulator but after saving (which requires a Memory Pack) if I try to load it won't load the game (black screen) so I've been using save states instead, it's probably my Android Emulator because fuck Google how they keep fucking up our systems.

This is very informative, thank you very much, if I may ask, are there any differences or improvements for the aftermarket (piko) version over the prototype (gt interactive) version?
"40 Winks" for N64 was reviewed in many (many) magazines around the world, by Xmas 1999, and then... just disappeared. Well, as Juiceala said, the PS1 version survived, and was released as expected.
The N64 game was so complete, during many years people had doubts about if the N64 version was in fact distributed (in very few copies) in at least some country. That was never corroborated by real facts, as far as I know.
Anyways, what happened is this: GT Interactive, the publisher of both versions, just brutally collapsed (by a huge amount of accumulated debt), and was bought by the french company "Infogrames" (that purchase, btw... will DOOM Infogrames, because they would inherit that huge GT Interactive debt. Why they would buy that dying giant, then? well... its too complicated to explain here, so... I'll only say... they just fucked it up very bad).
Infogrames, I suppose, decided to only release the version which had better market chances to sell good, and cancelled the N64, which was more expensive to produce, and by late 1999, had LOTS of competition (and GOOD ones) in the 3D platformer genre for N64. That Xmas , this game would have competed with the new Donkey Kong 64, for example. Apart from maaaany big names, for a console with a smaller market share.
So, basically, GT Interactive's death by debt, was the cause of the very last minute cancellation.

By the way, that had to be the original box (in PAL countries) for this N64 version, used in the media (magazines).
You can even see the GT interactive logo in the bottom left corner (that big white G unified with a T)
The game was cancelled literally in the last minute, because the collapse of the publisher.
This official box is mainly the reason many thought this version was released, although in very small numbers. As I said, this was never corroborated, as far as I know.
