So, 3DS was a console not everybody got to experience. A ton of people got to experience the DS, a ton of people got to experience the Switch, and right in the middle was the 3DS.

This is very sad because the 3DS was essentially Nintendo looking at all the things the PSP could do and saying “we will do that in our own way”. The 3DS has so many expressive and cool built in games/features that I adored as a kid who got the chance to grow up with the system. As such, it’s so clear to me why this system has such a dedicated community: the console ITSELF has a personality. And people still love it for that.

i didn't play very many 3ds games back in the day, despite having one. but i think the pokemon games on the system were decent, and of course SMT 4 is the best game in the series. i also think that LBX is pretty underrated, but i didn't get too far into it. gave me some great custom robo vibes.

I'm still making memories with my 3DS. After getting a Circle Pad Pro, Monster Hunter, EX Troopers, Gaist Crusher and LBX play like a dream

3DS was the last true portable console and along with Wii U it was the last Nintendo console with soul. Sure, Switch has lots of great games but it has zero soul, it lacks lots of basic features that even Wii and DS have, it has so many shitty games that it's like browsing Google Play and Steam and it has lots of woken shit.

I have two 3ds XL, problably one of my favuorite console ever made. Put a ton of hours in Monster Hunter, Fire Emblem and some secondary games like 7th Dragons and Radiata historia

and of course SMT 4 is the best game in the series.
I really enjoyed SMT 4. One of my favorite SMT games. I liked SMT V, but man there were so many times when I played SMT V where I was like "This makes me want to play SMT 4 instead".

Growing up one of the few systems I had was the 3DS so I am grateful to have gotten it back then. I have had some good memories playing 3DS games. Also, the 3DS having backwards compatibility to the DS was an extra cherry on top to it being a great system. Also, relating to both SMT 4 and the 3DS I haven't touched my 3DS in a while, but recently I decided to play Devil Survior Overclocked on it. Right now I'm hooked on it and have been playing for a bit.

Oh my god, I remember this clearly: the 3DS was my introduction to backwards compatibility. I had no idea at first that my 3DS could play DS software, even though my parents were telling me. I was remembering at the time how my mom knew so little about video games that she rented me an XBox 360 game from Blockbuster when all we had was a Wii.

So, for a little while, I remember barely playing the system because the only game I got with it was Mario Kart 7 (ironically would become the most common pack-in game for the console, but my parents bought it separately at the time). Eventually I would grow attached to the system thanks in no small part to the camera. It was the first camera that was truly MINE. And at the time, I was a big YouTube kid, so I was like “I’ll make my own stuff too!”

Eventually, I would play a ton of 3DS stuff. Eventually I would grow to love Mario Kart 7. But at first things were a tad rocky!

I like the 3DS as a platform, especially the new 3DSXL and new2DSXL (The latter of which is my go to of the lot). That said... I'm not a huge fan of the library. There are tons of games I love from the original DS and the fact the 3DS is backwards compatible is, of course, awesome, but there are just so few games on the 3DS that interest me that aren't already on another console.

This mostly comes from me being an RPG player first and the 3DS basically having SMT and very little else.

This is very true. The 3DS SUCKS to emulate, because when you aren’t emulating the OS, you realize just how few games on the system matter. If you don’t LOVE Nintendo stuff (and around this time Nintendo was at its most safe and bland) then all you really have are hidden gem RPGs and impressive ports.

For me, I still love it. It’s nostalgic as heck to me. But I totally get why other people don’t love it, dude. I absolutely get it.

Sorry, really wasn't trying to come in here and be negative on a positive post. I really do think it's cool tech. To add a bit more positivity, I guess I'd say my favorite game on the 3DS is probably Warioware Gold.

Stella Glow. That is all.
Really didn't impress me.. at all xD

I’ve been messing with StreetPass games.

Dude! Market Crashers is so fun!

Leave it to Good Feel to make a great arcade style game about trading and buying stocks!

It’s a subject matter that appeals to my adult self, while still having that Nintendo style and charm. God I love that game.

I remember when I first got the 3DS I adored it. I remember using all the pre-installed games/apps on it and testing out every feature. I was in awe of all the features it had. Also, the backwards compatibility was incredible for me as early on I didn't have any 3DS games on it so I was glad I could play my DS games on it.

I couldn't agree more. Everything about the Switch feels so corporate and soulless, there are no more themes, the virtual console is gone and you now have to pay every month for a shitty subscription service that only allows you to play the games online, no more cute songs for stuff like the eshop and settings. Everything that made Nintendo consoles unique and charming is gone and they are now soulless like Sony and Microsoft.

3ds is a good all-in-one device when you hack it and I feel like the only person who enjoyed the 3d effect. Still my favorite Nintendo portable.

Oh god, you remember those 3D videos you could watch? Like, Nintendo Video as an app.

At the time, my 3DS was all I had. So, yeah, I watched those. I watched them a lot because it was ALL I HAD for a portable console.

I was 21 when the 3DS came out, and I had a wonderful time with it, I joined a Streetpass club in New York, played a ton of great Nintendo titles such as Ocarina of Time 3D, New Leaf, Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus Uprising, Mario Kart 7, the Streetpass Minigames (Ultimate Angler was a great one), and I got the 3DSXL for Majora's Mask 3D and the Super Nintendo titles.

I don't have any specific memories, I just loved the 3DS in general! It ended up getting me into Fire Emblem finally and even let me continue on with the DS games I hadn't beaten yet. Not to mention putting custom firmware on it, which turns it into an amazing handheld for emulation. I still have my original metallic green 3DS too! Well, I gave it to my boyfriend and almost immediately after he put custom firmware on it, the thumbstick literally disintegrated. Oops. At least I still have my almost mint condition NN3DS XL and my boyfriend has a pimped out Vita.

I do have to give one bad memory though. Why the fuck did the NN3DS XL not come with a goddamn charger? What the hell Nintendo? Quit with the nickel-and-dime bullshit.

I grew up with a DS and not really a 3DS but I did play it once, I do remember playing pokemon on it (don't really remember which one) and like a harry potter game, I forgot the name of it but I remember I liked it a lot.

I never actually used the 3D slider for any of the games lol
I didn't bother to custom firmware the 3DS until last year and gave it away ( cause I still have a regular sized *New* Nintendo 3DS anyway )
I mainly only played the games on it since I wanted to catch up in playing up the core series Pokemon games
Though I also found Stella Glow, Devil Survivor Overclocked and Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker to be enjoyable !

Playing Four Swords anniversary edition co-op with my boyfriend is my favorite memory, eventhough its a DSiWare game, we played it on 3DS.
