PS2 25 Years of PlayStation 2

I wasn't alive when the PlayStation 2 was released - heck, I was born like 2 weeks before the slim model was released - but having gone back to it after acquiring one and also running through emulation, I can tell why the PS2 is such a beloved console. It has a huge variety of titles across several genres, and there's something for everyone here. To my eyes, it was also an absolute monster of a JRPG machine! There's so, so, so many fantastic JRPGs on PlayStation 2 that it's kind of overwhelming. Dark Cloud was the first one I played through to completion on PS2, and it still stands as among my favorite titles on the console.

Stellar library. It has a wonderful mix of blockbuster hits like the GTA series and Metal Gear Solid 2+3, alongside the strange and obscure like The Nightmare of Druaga and Bujingai.

The PS2 is a system I wish I had when I was growing up - going back to its titles in the modern era has been a treat. It's a system that I could play exclusively for the rest of my life and still have plenty of great titles that I'd miss out on!

Happy 25th Anniversary PS2 🎉🎊👏🏻, But I Had the PS2 (Super Slim) at Christmas in 2011 but but I didn't get to play it in 2012 on Saturday, February 18th and that's when my dad bought me a new CRT TV which was actually a Sankey Cinevision 29" and there I started to play PlayStation 2 like never before as the Gran Turismo 4 (The First PS2 Game that Played), Secret Agent Clank (Despite being an inferior version of the PSP), Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier (The Weakest Game in the Franchise), ATV OffRoad Fury 4 (You can also play on Bike, Buggy and Truck apart from ATV), SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs (I was not interested in the Game at the beginning but over time I gave it a Chance and I liked it but it is Something Difficult but not Impossible). But those were all the games that came in the PS2 Super Slim Gamer Kit It was $200, which was a reasonable price for the last few years of the PS2's lifespan, but I had a good childhood with it.

Buying a FreeMCboot Memory Card has been of the best purchases of this year so far. Enjoying Burnout 3, God of War, Crash Twinsanity and a bunch of other games.

Im so glad i finally get to enjoy a bit of the PS2's real library instead of the licensed shovelware i grew up with.

the ps2 was one of those consoles where i feel like any of its exclusives where not just games available to the console, but as if they where integrated into the machine itself. they where a part of the whole playstation 2 experience and vibe. i sometimes think about digging out my old ps2 and installing a hard drive onto it with all the games(if that's a thing), but for now im satisfied with emulation.

Man, how time flies it is and remains a legend the Playstation 2 !
