I really expected Turkey to do better than they did in their first two matches. I could be wrong but I think they're the first team in this World Cup that definitely has no chance of progressing beyond the group stage anymore.

If there was one thing the Dutch should have had covered it definitely was corner kicks. I guess van Dijk and van Hecke are just too short to be allowed to play at World Cup level

Hey!!! USA (MEN!) went 2-0 in group play for the first time since before the World War 2? That seems beyond comprehension. So did they either just get eliminated immediately or limp into further contest with a 1-1 record. I am not really into soccer/Futbol. But I was looking when the gals play and they certainly have done better and have a lot of personality. I don't know when they do. (I have followed them before in the mid 2010s).

Anyhow. USA is 2-0 and Christian Pulisic was out the last game. He's the playmaker. I think they sat him out because Australia wasn't a hard go. Well here we are! I know there were some surprises Spain tied with Cabo Verde. That team sounds like a town in Dragon Quest.
