I beat the original over at a friend's house somewhere around 18+ years ago..
I've been trying to motivate myself to do it again on the PS3 remaster, just for the sake of trophy points.. ::chocobo-dance

I remember when SotC originally came out. The game was so graphically impressive that people (IRL & magazine articles) legitimately thought that it was an Xbox game..

Shadow and ICO are both great games.

And my God, the amount of theories and discussions on Shadow of the Colossus is mind-boggling.
If I remember right, the developers who did the remaster added a tribute to the forum user from back in the day named Ascadia, who had spent a lot of his adult life documenting and tracking down theories on SOTC until their death.

This is a old video but still Wow

I've recently discovered Ico and SOTC, the aesthetic of these games has already claimed my attention; like the game has a very deep meaning, and meaningful messages. I genuinely look forward to experiencing this game whenever I have the time.

Great game. I sometimes wonder what it would be like if Fumito Ueda got to realise all the plans he had for this game; like iirc there's 4 colossi that were cut from the final game, but still have some data leftover in the games files. Honestly, just hearing about what went into making this game is fascinating in and of itself.

Yeah, then it got cut down to 24, then to 20 and then to the 16 in the final game. I just looked it up as well and we have the names (Or codenames I guess) for the 8 unused ones. Seems as though the 24 colossi was set in stone for quite awhile and a lot of the final game still reflects that (The temple you start in having 24 pillars meant to represent the colossi for example).

Well, i knew that because of the video from 2019 i posted

Shadow of the Colossus rocked.
It could never surpass Ico for me as it’s my favorite game ever made, but man was it cool.
It’s such an insanely sad and bleak game where even though you feel like an unstoppable hero whenever you climb on top of the heads of the huge video game giants and get to stabbing, it still manages to feel like murder.

Fumito Ueda is such a master at crafting game stories that feel like they could be pulled from real-world ancient mythologies while simultaneously feeling wholly original.
