I need to point that was a huge year for beat 'em ups.

Streets of Rage, Turtles in Time, The Simpsons, King of the Dragons, Captain Commando and Knights of the Round.

4. Batman: The Video Game (I have a soft spot for this game since I remember playing the arcade version at Pizza Hut as a little kid)

Honorable Mention: RoadBlasters (Loved this game on the Sega Genesis and played the arcade version a lot at an Italian Oven restaurant)

There is one thing that bugs me about Sonic 1, and this is going to sound really dumb, and it is that the attract mode jumps straight into two player split screen. Otherwise, it is magic.
