10 years ago, we lost an icon.

Well, according to older fans Nintendo died with the latest member of the legacy family of the company (Yamauchi).

I don't agree with them but I understand their sentiment and now we got a similar generation of Nintendo fans that also consider that Nintendo is dead after Iwata's passing.

F-zero and Mother not getting new games can be understood but I've seen how sometimes they played too safe (with the Wii U) to the point where people got bored of too casual games. Even NSMB Wii kinda felt a bit too easy even if there's a ninth world.

The PS3 drastically dropped its price by 2007 - 2008 while the PS2 was still selling like hotcakes.

Maybe it was indeed the right choice to still be producing hardware (unlike Sega and Atari) yet it felt like it was a different company with the same IPs doing them.
Could be wrong, but i think OP wanted us to remember a person for what he did for the industry, not to dwelve in inflammatory or snarky remarks. read the temperature on the room chap.

R.I.P.

On July 11th, 2015, we lost an important figure from Nintendo and the entire video game industry. Satoru Iwata. It's been 10 years since his passing, and I still miss him to this day.

We were already losing Nintendo, and gaming in general, to the corpo ghouls before he died. I knew that after he was gone, it would be full ghoul mode.

He was one of the last guys who worked his way up from coding in his parents house to leading the biggest game company on Earth. Until the industry collapses and rises again, we probably won't see anyone like him.
