Game Description:
Tōshin Toshi II (闘神都市II) is a Dungeon Crawler/RPG video game published by Alice Soft and developed by Alice Soft released on 1997 for Microsoft Windows.
Warning: Explicit content and adult themes.
Tōshin Toshi II plays similarly to its predecessor and to most other Alice Soft RPGs: most of the game is dedicated to exploring maze-like top-down dungeons (with an auto-map feature), and fighting random and event-related enemies in 1 on 1 turn-based combat. Battles and town locations are viewed from first person perspective. Spirit Points (SP) are required to execute any attack; they can be replenished by "resting" (during battle), using special items, or walking (outside of battle).
Unlike the first game, Tōshin Toshi II is set in an alternate timeline, somewhat similar to Kichikuou Rance.
You've been in love with your old childhood friend Hazuki ever since you can remember. You've become a couple and all seems perfect... except that she is the daughter of the person you've been studying swordsmanship under. And the fact that you have been stuck at Level 4 for the longest time makes winning her hand a bit out of your reach...
Then comes the Tōshin tournament. A fighting tourney that happens every year, the best of fighters enter to win the coveted Tōshin title (tōshin literally means God of Battle). Each contestant must come in with a female partner and if the contestant loses the battle, their partner becomes the property of the winner for the rest of the day, free to do whatever he or she wishes to do to them.
Hazuki, after getting the promise from her father to allow her marriage to you if she goes as the partner of the strongest warrior of all his pupils, she heads out to the Tournament... but she in fact agreed to a promise waiting to be broken. Hazuki's father, determined to have a strong warrior carry on the dojo, wants only the winner of the tournament to marry her daughter... leaving you with only one option: To win the tournament.
As you fight, a number of mysteries arise. What is the reason the Tōshin Tournament is held every year? Why did a person tell you to not win the tournament? Why is it that none of the previous winners ever leave the city?

The v1.21 patch by RottenBlock fixes a save game bug preventing from using all the available slots and fixes several other issues with scenes and text. Check the source link for a list of the changes.
This is a direct port of the 1994 PC-98 version of the game to Windows through an interpreter application for the game engine (called System 3.9) which was released in 1997. (But was not part of the compilation that contained the first game and was released separately)
To start the game just run System39.exe, the .ini file can be used to alter some of the game settings.
The music in this game is played using the 320 bitrate .mp3 files from the bgm folder. The game won't launch without first installing the audio processing decoder included in the _inmm238.exe setup. So run and install that first (it doesn't matter where you tell it to install to) If you try to start the game without installing that it'll say inmm.dll is missing and won't start.
This game can be played with a controller. Choose the second option in the O tab in the app and close and restart it for the game to recognize and use your controller. Some screens require using a mouse instead and can't be interacted with using the gamepad (most notably the camp menu screen)
