Brightis is a 1999 PlayStation action RPG by Quintet and Shade, the studios behind Soul Blazer and Terranigma, and it never left Japan. This is an unofficial English translation patch for it. Everything you read in the game is in English now: the story, menus, items, skills, the save and load screens, name entry, signs, area names, and the tutorials.

Version 1.0. It is finished and playable start to finish.

This project piggybacks off of the work originally done by Dickdebonair's team. Their version is still in progress and will likely end up being a better more polished release than this one.

The download in these posts for the game will be replaced with that version when it's available. (or maybe we'll keep both)

As far as I can tell, the translation in this doesn't seem to be AI MTL based. At least the project page doesn't say anything indicating it is.

----------------------------------------------------------

This is the PSX2PSP converted version of Brightis. It's meant to be played on a PSP with custom firmware or a PS Vita through Adrenaline.

It will play fine using DuckStation since it supports the .pbp format, but if you choose to do so I recommend changing the filename to the game name instead of leaving it EBOOT. This offers a bit of compression compared to a straight bin/cue, but you can achieve better compression using CHD.

For those of you with a PSP who don't have custom firmware yet, I recommend installing ARK-5 using this guide. It's the latest new firmware for PSP and is packed with features and being actively developed.

The first two screenshots were taken directly on my PSP 3000 and shows how this appears in the XMB game list.
