Game Description:

Garudius '95 is a Shoot 'Em Up video game published by CO2-PRO and developed by CO2-PRO released on 1995 for the PC-98.

This is a Gradius dōjin fan game done in the style of Gradius III with the same music but is drastically different with custom levels, bosses, and weapons. The game seems to be in all English, so no translation was needed.

Game Controls:

Numpad 2, 4, 6, 8 Controls ship and navigates menus
X Fire and confirm in menus
Z Use powerup and confirm in menus
Esc Pause game and cancel in menus
JoyPad Left Analog Stick Controls ship and navigates menus
JoyPad D-Pad Controls ship and navigates menus
JoyPad B or X Fire and confirm in menus
JoyPad A or Y Use powerup and confirm in menus

I highly recommend the emulator Neko Project 21/W for playing on Windows. It's the most feature complete emulator for the NEC PC-9801 and is in active development receiving frequent updates. Use this guide for help on how to obtain and configure the emulator.

Note: this game is significantly more enjoyable with a controller. If using NP21W go to Device -> Sound option... -> JoyPad and check Use JoyPad-1 to enable the controller for the game. The checkboxes with letters can be used to switch around the face buttons of the controller (ABXY) and checking POV -> X-Y Axis will switch to using D-Pad instead of Analog (only one can be used at a time and not both Analog and D-Pad)
