PSP Your favorite PSP games?

in terms of narrative, would you recommend it as a first .hack? i was curious about the series but it has so many entries and i imagined the psp one being like a spin off or too much of a side story.
The 4 games on PS2 you can play in order. But usually each .Hack series is it's own thing. Same for the anime.

I would not recommend it tbh .hack//link is a good game but it will be more appreciated if you played the other games. Why?
Well because .hack//link basically tells the story of a dude that traverse through time
And you go through the story of every other .hack//game Soo it kinda spoilery
If you wanna get into .hack I think the best way (according to the timeline by link)
Would be .hack//sign => the 4(3?) games of .hack (where the protagonist is a dude wearing orange) => .hack//G.U games => link
Although you can play link and enjoy it anyways
You don't need to play the others before link
But playing link first could have it's disadvantages

got ya

i feel like i have too much games to play before i die so maybe i'll start by link, since it can be comprehended alone and will give me an overview of the rest of the series.

I don't know if I have favorites. I guess if I had to choose based on replayability then it would be Rock Band Unplugged, Tekken Dark Resurrection, and Lumines. I always end up going back to those games.

The PSP was the first console I ever imported pre-launch! WipEout Pure and Ridge Racer at launch got me bad.

With all that said, I never ended up really falling in love with WipEout Pure. I clocked it and really dug into it at the time, but I've since realised that I like the OG PSX trilogy the most. I got Hot Shots Golf at launch, and really loved it.

I really can't go past Ridge Racers/Ridge Racer 2 though, it's in the top 3 games of the whole series.

I also really, really enjoyed the Prinny games on the PSP, despite being not entirely familiar with the Disgaea games as a whole.

Miami Vice is a fantastic cover shooter that I didn't expect to like, but it ended up being one of my favourite games on the PSP for some reason.

And Tekken Dark Resurrection is still the best fighter on the system for my money :)

I had this too, and it was great! I couldn't give less of a shit about golf if I tried, but Clap Hanz makes some of the best sports games in the world, and they've never let me down. If you're looking for a more recent and equally-excellent golf game, Easy Come Easy Golf on Switch and iOS is a very worthy successor to Hot Shots.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out!!!

Yeah, I'm the same, I really don't care about Golf as a sport, but there's a handful of games out there I adore because they're just great games with awesome music :)

The wipeout games for sure!

Although I'll be honest, I've always preferred the PS1 originals (especially 2097/XL and Wo3:SE).

And speaking of the PSP, the TR ports were really good too. Although I'd recommend playing them on other formats if possible, just due to the PSP's limited buttons.

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of The Lions
Untold Legends
Lumines
Wipeout
Mercury
Crazy Taxi
Kollon
Pangya Fantasy Golf
Power Stone Collection
Little Big Planet
Soul Calibur

My favorite ones from back in the day were the usual suspects: crisis core, birth by sleep, peace walker and the gows.

This is my new favorite, valkyria chronicles 3. Amazing game, and it's full of content (dlc missions, extra missions from post-game, password characters).

This is for when i need some arcade action. Ridge Racer 2 is pure gameplay, and the music is top tier

Those are the ones im constantly playing, i have some more than i need to finish or currently going thru.

Ridge Racer 2 is criminally overlooked. It might be one of the best entries in the entire series, it features a load of content, gorgeous visuals and a nice framerate. I probably played that for a good six years on and off as one of my go-to racers on the PSP.

You are absolutely correct, but there's no chance in hell that im going to play 7 .hack games before this one. Besides, the dvd that came in the special edition (of link) is precisely a summary of everything that came before. Btw, i watched hack sign and it's pretty cool

yes, totally. And the game can be hard sometimes, it requires perfect driving because if you hit someone from behind you can say goodbye to surpassing him. Great game, and a strong contender to best racing on the psp (which is something)

Yeah it's actually pretty challenging, I found it probably about as challenging if not harder than RRT4.
